Good morning! I new to the whole IVF process. I am 25 and have 2 wonderful kids of my own. I am currently preparing to go through IVF to become a gestational surrogate for a wonderful couple whom I met a few months ago. I am starting a mock cycle the first part of May. My mock consists only of estogen patches. If all goes well with my lining checks and my estridol (sp) levels then we will proceed with an end of June beginning of July transfer.

Any information you ladies can give me on what to expect would be great. I know everything I have to go through but I don't know a lot about what to expect physically and emotionally. Am I going to be a hormonal mess? Am I going to gain a lot of weight? I know it is different for many people. I am hoping I am one of the lucky ones who doesn't gain weight! That would be nice!

I would like to wish every single one of you success in your journeys!

Chasity,

Reading your message put a smile across my face. I think you are such an amazing person for doing this. Please don't worry about this processs it is not that bad. I have been through it twice now and can honestly say that the worst thing for me were the shots. I have a shot phobia. My husband gave me all of the shots with me looking the other direction. I gained a few pounds my first time but gain zero my second time. Emotions comes into play with all of the doctor appts and test results. My first go around was perfect but a neg result. Second go around was a emotional rollcoaster high's and low's the hole time. The second ended in a chemical Pg. I wish you the best of luck and pray that all goes well for you and the family that you doing this for. You are truly an ANGEL in my eyes.

Hugs,

Melanie

Thanks Melanie! I hope it isn't that bad. My IM (intended mother) went through IVF herself to concieve their first child. She is almost 2. She answers a lot of my questions and is a great person. I know everyone reacts differently though and I hope since I am trying to do a good thing I can skate by with no side effects...ya know that whole Karma thing?! lol.

Thanks so much for the kind words. I think any woman that is able to help others out in this way should. It is a very rewarding thing to do. I can't wait to hand them a baby or two and see the looks on their faces when they hold their child for the first time. I know the joy I felt when I first looked into my childrens eyes and it is one that nobody can explain! I plan on doing this a few times. 2 times for the couple I am presently with and again for another couple. As long as I can help and keep myself safe medically wise I will do it!

Good luck on your journey! I will keep you in my prayers!
