I have been lurking for a while and have posted sparatically on the TTYFC6+ for a while now.

I just finished my first IVF cycle on Wednesday where I transfered 2 day 3 embryos.

I started a long protocol on November 21st and had my retrieval on Sunday, December 4th. I had a pretty good response, 15 retrieved, 8 icsi, 4 fertitilized. My RE and I agreed upon a 2 embryo day 3 transfer over a day 5 transfer, which would have been today if I went with the day 5 - however I got the call from my clinic this morning to tell me that my two other embies that I was hoping to freeze for a later cycle did not make it to the blastocyst stage, so I'm really bummed about that.

I am wondering if anyone has had sucess with a day 3 transfer - and has any words of encouragement.

Hi Lindsay,

Congratulations on being PUPO! I would say that about 1/2 of the BFPs that came from my buddy group were day 3 transfers. Remember that they put the very best two embryos back in so even though the other two didn't make it to freeze it doesn't predict the success of your cycle. I'll keep everything crossed that your dynamic duo snuggle in =)

Hi Lindsay. I also recently finished my first IVF cycle. I had 2 8-cell embryos implanted on day 3 and just had my 6 week, 5 day ultrasound this past monday and we are pregnant with a singleton. I got light positives on HPT 8 days post transfer. We only got 4 mature eggs at our retrieval, luckily all 4 fertililzed naturally, we had 2 implanted (one took) and we were lucky to have one frozen on day 6. So a day 3

Hi there,

I'm currently 23 weeks from a 3-day transfer. My embryos couldn't have made it to 5 days. I had 6 left after my 3-day transfer and none made it to freeze. My dr (and another I had a consult with) told me that some embryos don't like the dish and are best back where they belong - in you!

I didn't feel anything the cycle that worked. I started spotting a bit the day before beta and some cramping that felt like my period was coming. Dr. Google told me this COULD be a good sign, so I got a positive test that day (12dp3dt) in the afternoon.
