I'm 32 yrs old with 2 healthy children (ages 7 and 4)conceived naturally before we discovered I was a carrier of a genetic disease that causes mental retardation.  In order to give our future child the best chance possible for a healthy life my husband and I decided to do IVF with PGD.  I have gone through 3 IVF cycles since Sept 2009, none resulting in a successful pregnancy.  This sucks and is frustrating because our previous children came easily and the "fun" way.

I'm gearing up emotionally for another round in a couple months.  I was wondering if there are any vets out there who can offer me some hope and words of encouragement?

I wouldn't call myself a vet, but just wanted to say offer my support.

We all know this is not an easy process and the roller coaster of emotions can be so scary.

unlike the other responders, I would consider myself an IVF vet. I went thru 6 (yes SIX) rounds of IVF before we got a sticky BFP. It was a tough road, let me tell you. It totally sucked, every minute of it. But I'm now 22w pg w/ a boy and we couldn't be happier.
What helped me was always having a plan. If one cycle didn't work, we always knew what our next step was going to be. If it weren't for that, I don't think I could have done it. We were ALWAYS working toward our goal of starting a family and becoming parents.

I'm not gonna lie, this can be a very long and tough road, but don't give up. You've proven you can get and stay pg....so it's just the matter of finding the right embryo and you'll be successful!
