Pregnant with tubal, but before IVF!?!?

DH and I just starting looking into IVF as a possible solution for my tubal 5 years ago, but now I am having symptoms of pregnancy before we have even had our first appointment with the fertility specialist. About 5 days ago one of my breast starting hurting, and the next day both of them were sore. Yesterday they were so swollen that they don't even fit in my bra anymore. The last time this happened, I was pregnant. Infant that's how I knew to take a HPT with my second daughter. So I called my OB... He said because I'm having symptoms in both my breast their are only about 3 things it could be, 2 of which are very unlikely due to my age, and the last is that I'm pregnant. It's still

I hope you are in the 2% too. My only pregnancy ended in a pressumed ectopic in 2010. I didn't have to have surgery and ended up taking the MX shot (it is a chemo drug) to dissolve things. I was in a lot of pain from that shot but that

Hoping that it's a little miracle baby!!

If you catch a tubal pregnancy at an early enough stage, I believe that there is a shot that you can do instead of surgery. I have a couple of friends who have had to do that. I really hope it doesn't come to that or surgery, but as Caryn said, if you have to do that, it doesn't affect your chances to do IVF because your tubes are completely bypassed anyway. In most cases, if caught early enough, an ectopic pregnancy shouldn't damage your ovary unless that is where it implanted (which I just looked up and read is a rare occurance as only 1-3% of ectopic pregnancies are ovarian).

I am wondering if you are pregnant and far enough along to have symptoms, if maybe you might be far enough along to get a positive on an hpt if you took it now? If you don't get a positive result, you can still test again in a week.

I'm sorry! Hopefully you'll be in the 2% and everything will be in the right place =) Do you know when you ovulated? I usually start POAS about 10DPO and do so every other day. It helps the crazy waiting feeling a little easier for me =) I think if it was a tubal pregnancy they would remove that tube but not the ovary. While no one ever wants surgery (especially for this!) it wouldn't hurt your chances during an IVF cycle.

Good luck & KUP!
