Tell me about it.  I can't stop crying.  I dont' really know what happened.  My RE said something like one or two of the follicles were really cysts and the other one was empty or he couldn't get the egg out.  He really made me feel worse by making it sound like he didn't think he would be able to do anything else for me.  I feel like I wasted this IVF cycle with him.  I should have went elsewhere when I had my doubts before even though it means travelling out of state.  Now, I'm not sure that I'll even get to do another cycle with my OE.  I made 3 "follicles" but I didn't get any eggs and therfore no embryos to transfer.  I don't know what will happen now.

Christina - Sorry just lurking and thought I would respond.   Don't lose hope..  If you have the means check out another RE.  There are some that really specialize in the harder cases.  Plus the first IVF is a science experiment.  they don't truely know how your body will respond and another protocol might do you good.   I know its hard.  IVF/Infertility is not for the wimps.   Sending lots of ((HUGS)) and hope you have success in the future.

Oh sweetie, I am so so sorry! I think you should allow yourself some time to grieve and then get on the ball in finding a new RE. If you decide to come out to CCRM you can stay with me =) Go out for dinner and drink a huge fishbowl marg...tomorrow is a new day and you WILL figure this out {{{HUGS}}}

Oh no!!! I am so sorry Christina. I agree with others who said the first cycle is a bit of an experiment. It's crazy if the insurance bases everything on your first cycle. Also, boo to your RE for saying there was nothing he could do without having a sit down discussion about options!! Did he say that when you had just recovered from the anesthesia? Does your insurance limit which RE you can see?

Yeah, he said that right after he told about not getting any eggs.  I can understand if that is what he thinks, but was that really the time to say it?  I certainly want my RE to be honest with me, it just seemed a little cruel to say at that moment.  I have an appointment scheduled with a new RE in Boston in Oct.  I'm going to make an appointment with a 2nd RE there two.  There are two clinics with better success rates for my age with DOR, so I'm going to meet with someone at both practices and go from there.

DH has said he is ok with DE if we can't try again with my eggs.  I don't feel like we've really tried with my eggs yet.  Even DOR patients can get eggs retrieved, just not that many.  I want to at least do one ET with my OE before I give up.  I also think that being on BCPs and Estrace and having that cyst all contributed to this bad cycle.  I hope my insurance will give me another shot.  I tried calling them and asking but they said the RE would have to submit a request to know for sure.  It's on a case by case basis, blah blah blah.  Maybe I should ask my current RE to submit the request so that I'll know before I get to the new RE.

When should I expect AF?  I'm not doing the crinone gel now since there won't be a transfer.  Will I still get AF in two weeks or what?  Does my body think it ovulated or not?  I know IVF affect your normal progesterone production.  I don't know if I can deal with a long cycle at this point.  I would call and ask my RE's nurse, but I get the impression they don't really care anymore.

Christina ~ That was total crap timing. I think you're right that the cyst contributed...wasn't your baseline E2>200? My RE won't start a cycle with it over 50. If I were in your place I wouldn't give up on your own eggs yet either. So happy you are going to check out a few DOR specialists in the Boston area, hopefully one of them will be a good match for you. It's not a bad idea to have your current RE get a pre-approval to see what you're dealing with. But maybe a new clinic would code things differently? Not sure. I would think AF would be here in a couple weeks. Even without the crinone gel I would think the follicle(s) you did have are releasing progesterone and will hold off AF for a bit.

ifnlonely ~ How was your u/s on Monday?

Tess ~ How are you passing time until your u/s on Monday?

proudmama ~ Feeling any better?

Shaviola ~ What's going on with your cycle?

Als1122565 ~ Any udpates?

Bld2006 ~ Any udates on when your surgery is going to be?

Taressa (Sorcet) ~ How ya hanging in there hon?  I was happy to hear on FB that you have a plan for saving up to try again.  Your DH came around I'm assuming?

AFM (Caryn) ~ POAS today and there was a faint second line. Before anyone gets excited I expect at least 200 units from my hcg shots so this is a false positive at this point.  Now I'll just POAS each day and analyze the living daylights out of them to see if they get any darker *LOL*  It helps pass time at least =)

Any more updates to our chart?

Christina, sorry I've been lurking with you guys too, but I am do glad you are seeking a second opinion. I don't have DOR but it took 3 cycles and a full protocol change to get any good embies out of me. Do not give up on your eggs yet! We were getting ready to do donor embies and hit the jackpot with all the changes. Also I've heard supplements help a lot with DOR. I'm convinced DHEA, CoQ10 and royal jelly with bee pollen made a huge difference for me. I suggest you start taking them now!

Christina I agree with caryn about the E2 level ... Def something to look into and the res timing was horrible its all about delivery ! I think a second opinion is a good idea do sure

Ifl- congrats on the little bean HR woooo!

Caryn- I am now living through your cycle and I feel ur line will be double dark in the next few days ! Monday can't come soon enough ! Stay sane!

Afm DH is ok with my budget plan he would have done it for me but I didn't want him to be forced into it hopefully on 6-8 months ill be healthy richer and back on the IVF train!
