Thanks Caryn. I've been pretty positive up until today. I think I would have been fine if she hadn't brought up the ultrasound at all. Just the way she said it made me nervous like there was someting they were supposed to call and tell me. Unfortunately, I don't always have the opportunity to talk privately at work so I couldn't really ask her about it. The last thing I need is for coworkers to think I'm pregnant when I'm not because I used the word ultrasound. That's how the rumor mill gets started.
When I spoke to the patient ed. lady yesterday she said that if I didn't get my period by today they would probably schedule b/w the check my hormones and that it was normal. They are checking HCG, LH, E2, and P4. I know I'm not pregnant and they should too given that I was just on BCPs, but whatever. I'm a little worried about the P4 and E2 levels. I haven't had a P4 reading in the pre-O range since the beginning of my 1st IUI cycle even when I know it was pre-O. Hopefully everything will work out.
I'll KUP on what they say today if I can ever get my blood drawn. I had a bad feeling right away this morning when I saw someone different than I usually see drawing blood. I don't have the most cooperative veins but the one who usually does it can get a vein on first try and not leave a bruise. This one stuck me twice and still didn't get a vein. I already have a bruise forming and it hurts. So, I have to go back at 11:30 when someone else will be available to torture me. Can I just get a break or what? Why can't AF show up so I can skip all this nonsense? I feel like crawling under a rock.
(((HUGS))) Christina! Keep your chin up and don't lose the hope already.
I feel your pain about the labs, I'm a hard stick as well. I had a lab tech tell me once that warming my arm helped the veins swell and made them easier to stick. You might ask if they have a heating pad or a warm pack you could put on your arm before they stick you.
Wow Taresa, those are expensive u/s! I hope you don't need another one this cycle. AF being heavy might be a good sign, that your lining is going to be nice and thin to start your cycle.
AFM - Headache has gone away, finally. I think it was a combo of the lupron and a sinus headache. I took my last BCP this morning and have my baseline next Thurs (8/30). My L ovary has been hurting a bit, I hope it's just AF related and not another cyst forming.
Christina ~ You just can't catch a darn break!!! Hopefully this is the time for all the drama and once you start stims it will go like a dream =)
Lisa ~ Interesting that you would say your left ovary hurts. I also had pains in my left ovary last night, which I thought was odd since I've been on BCPs and Lupron. The only thing I can think is that the antral follicles that didn't develop this cycle were collapsing. Fun that our baseline appointments are on the same day, only 6 days now until CD1 =)
AFM (Caryn) ~ Celebrating that today is Friday...and I'll take my last BCP tonight =)
They were able to get a vein on the first try went I went back, but they still haven't called me to let me know what's going on. I'm assuming I'll still have to wait for AF so I'm not even sure what the point of the bloodwork was other than to torment me.
I asked my boss about taking the rest of the day off after my blood draw and he said ok. So I did a little retail therapy, went to lunch and then went to the salon for a cut and style. I decided I needed to get away from the office and pamper myself a little. I feel a little bit better.
