So, after I called them back 5 minutes before closing, my RE put me on Estrace twice a day and they told me to call on day 1. The nurse said it will keep my ovaries suppressed?  I don't know all my hormone results but my progesterone was 2.7 so the nurse said I ovulated (huh?).  She thought that since it was low, AF might be coming soon.  Is it normal for progesterone to be elevated if you were on BCPs?  They're supposed to prevent ovulation, so why would it be elevated?  The nurse said over 2 means ovulation.  So, either way, it doesn't look like I'll be starting stims this weekend. :smileysad:

How long does it usually take you ladies to get AF after stopping the BCPs?  Today is 5 days since my last pill and still nothing.  Why is it that for the 3 years we tried naturally, I never had a problem getting AF when I didn't want it?  Now I can't get AF when I do want it.  I'm trying to stay positive, but it's getting hard when seems like one thing after another keeps going wrong.  I feel like a fool for thinking that I'd actually be starting IVF anytime soon.  I never should have picked up the meds until the day I needed them.  I probably jinxed myself.  Now I have a fridge and big bag full of drugs I'll probably never get to use.

I don't want to bring you ladies down with my self pity, so I'm going to signoff the roll call.  I'm just too flipping depressed.  Maybe I'll come back if things ever look up.  Good luck to everyone!

Christina ~ Happy you spoiled yourself a bit today! So sorry to hear your P4 is elevated. BCPs normally do surpress O during the month of taking them but if you read the instructions they say if you're taking them for birth control you need to use a backup method the 1st month...so it's not unheard of to still O. I usually get AF 3-4 days after stopping BCPs. Hopefully she's on her way soon. The estrace did supress me last cycle so hopefully that works and AF shows up really soon. Sorry it's delaying your stims...maybe it'll only be by a few days. You are absolutely not to go anywhere...we are here to support each other and I for one would like you to stay!!! Big {{{HUGS}}} Hope you're feeling better tomorrow.

(((HUGS))) Christina. I'm sorry you had such a bad day. Don't give up hope yet, the Estrace should do it's job so you can start stims soon. FX all of your cycle drama is before the stims start, and you have smooth sailing through the rest of the process. Please don't disappear, we're all rooting for you.

Well m lining is 17 mm after only 6 days of 1mg esterace. Ugh I'm so frustrated haven't gotten the call as to what they're going to do. Anyone know how detrimental a 17mm lining may be? I've read 10-16 mm is optimal I'm deciding if I want to push for transfer anyway ? I really cant afford 2-3 more ultrasounds not to mention I don't want to be on esterace anymore. Maybe I have a thick lining in general ? During my saline sono I remember the PA commenting on that. Think they would maybe do a lap or something to get it to thin out ? I have no idea what I'm talking about here just pulling it out of my butt

I have no advice for you, other than to send you (((HUGS))) and hopes the doc will go ahead with the transfer. Have you talked to him about your lining since you've had two cycles now of it being thick? There may be something they can do to help it.

Hi girls .... It's me again. My nurse called back and said were going ahead with the transfer on Friday. RE said the tech was too "generous" with the measurement and he measured it at 15.9. They're top cutoff is 16 on day 6 of the cycle. They said if this was day 15 they likely would cancel. Sooo I start PIO medrol and my antibiotic tonight for a Friday transfer eeeek ! I asked about assisted hatching since my E2 levels were over <6000 at retrieval I heard that hardens the shell of the embryo ?

Taresa ~ Happy you will get to move forward with transfer !!! This Friday, how exciting is that =) I don't know much about assisted hatching and when it's indicated. Hope you get some information back from your RE soon about that. Interesting that high E2 can harden the shell, I hadn't heard of that before.

Lisa ~ How are you doing on the Lupron now that the BCPs have stopped? Did AF show?

AFM (Caryn) ~ Great weekend with lots of fun kid activities with our DD =) Today though I feel crazy...I think the combo of PMS and no estrogen to balance out the Lupron is not a good mix. Last night I couldn't sleep because of hot flashes and night sweats and today I am exhausted and have a headache. Lupron is not my favorite. Hopefully when I start the estrogen patches/pills this Thursday it will help balance it out.

So happy for you Taresa! GL with the PIO. LMK what the doc says about the assisted hatching, that's new info for me.
