Caryn, I'm glad you had a good weekend with your DD. :smileyhappy: I'm sorry you're not feeling the best, hopefully the PMS symptoms will ease up a bit for you.

AFM (Lisa), I'm doing okay. Still have a slight headache, which seems to have been pretty constant since I started the Lupron. It's manageable though, and a small price to pay if this cycle works. No AF yet, but spot has arrived, so I'm sure she'll be here soon. Getting anxious for Thursday's baseline, my biggest fear is that we'll get scrubbed right off the bat.

Question for you ladies - what should I expect with my lupron AF? I'm guessing it'll be lighter than normal, which would be a relief. Any experiences to share?

Lisa ~ I don't have any previous experience with AF post BCP + Lupron but I'm expecting a lighter than normal AF. Had lots of cramps yesterday but she still hasn't shown, expecting it today. Has yours started or just still spotting?

Taresa ~ Any news on the assisted hatching?

AFM (Caryn) ~ I'm exhausted! Sleeplessness seems to be one of my main SE's of Lupron with no BCPs. Never thought I'd look forward to the estrogen pills/patches but I'm hoping they can level things out.

Caryn, I've been dealing with the sleeplessness as well. It takes me a long time to wind down, and then I don't sleep soundly. I'll be glad when I'm done with the lupron.

AF showed this morning after a day and night of cramping. So far she's not too bad, FX it stays that way.

Lisa - glad AF showed in a timely fashion I have no experience with lupron so I have no insight but I hope it stays light for u ! Caryn- hope AF shows today ... What happens after she comes do u stay on lupron ? Not being able to sleep is horrible especially in combo with exhausted :smileysad: im just going to think the lupron is preparing you guys for an up all night baby :smileyhappy: AFM- my nurse said my RE said its "fine" to use assisted hatching which didn't help I was looking for some insight might call the lab today see what they have to say. Some studies I read showed it had no improvement on implantation in good prognosis patients ( lose under 35 with out miscarriages or multiple failed IVF) I don't have any of these... So I'm thinking of not doing it. Did my first PIO last night myself and my DH still almost threw up he was so nervous ::sigh:: so glad needles don't bother me. Anyone take Valium prior to transfer ? I didn't last time and it was horrible I threw up and blacked out the transfer was so rough ... Worse than my unmedicated child birth... So they're givin me Valium I'm expecting to be knocked out since I can't even take benadryl with out sleeping 4 days

Lisa ~ Happy AF is taking it easy on you. Sorry to hear you're suffering with the sleep problems too!

Taresa ~ Talking with the lab about the AH is a great idea. Let us know what they say. Happy the PIO went well. My DH can't watch any of the shots either. We're just tougher =) I didn't take Valium before my fresh transfer but they gave it to me this time...I'm on the fence about if I'm going to take it though...can't decide.

AFM ~ AF showed around noon. I will stay on Lupron until 2 days before transfer.

My RE gave me valium to take just before the transfer as well. I did a little research and some REs prescribe it to help relax the smooth muscles of the uterus. My RE said it was up to me, so if there's any chance of it helping, I'll take it. I'm not expecting the transfer to be any worse than an IUI, am I wrong?

Transfer for me in my fresh cycle was just like an IUI. I had no idea that the valium could help with the actual transfer results...that might make the decision for me! Great info, thanks for sharing.

Welcome! I know the overwhelmed feeling, I'm right there with you. I have my baseline tomorrow for my first IVF cycle. I'm so glad the RE gave me a calendar with all the info on it, I'd be totally lost without it.

Good luck to you, keep us posted on how your cycle is going.
