Starting my IVF journey

Hello ladies -
My name is Ann (41) and DH is 47. We've been TTC our first for over a year now - was fortunate to get a BFP on our first try off BCP in November 2009, but miscarried around 12 weeks. Heard the heartbeat at 7 1/2 weeks, everything looked good - reports showed we lost the baby around 8 1/2 weeks. Tissue testing showed the baby was "normal" and no chromosonal abnormalities. 9+ months later and 4 failed IUI's, here we are beginning the road to IVF. I was one of "those" girls who said I would never move to injectables or even think about IVF, but here I am. I've gotten consults from two different RE's and have picked the one we will go with - so now I just wait. AF showed yesterday after our 4th IUI and my RE wants a month "natural" before putting me on BCP and then starting the meds
Welcome! I wish you the best of luck on this crazy rollercoster ride!!! Don't worry about the PIO, after a few shots you'll be an old pro:smileyhappy:This board is a great resource for support and information........I hope you find that here.
Once again I hope you get your BFP in 2011!

Hi there! I'm sorry it's been such a long road for you...I really hope this time it all works out for you. I was the same way...I knew I'd regret it if we didn't try (many in my fam were pushing for adoption) and we gratefully had DD after try #1. Emotionally, I spent a lot of time during my cycle just taking care of myself. I rested a lot, read some good books, watched some good movies, ate a lot of good food, and just tried to relax as much as I could. That really helped me to just breathe and do some self-care. There is a lot of mental things that go on...hoping/praying/wishing/worrying. That is inevitable, but it sounds like you have a really good attitude. Try to stay positive and good luck!
Also, my RE doesn't do PIO. I did progesterone suppositories twice a day and they were great. Might be something to ask about. Take care!
