Who is doing or has done acupuncture for IVF?

I've heard so many stories about how acupuncture can increase odds with IVF and help normalize your TSH. My levels were a bit high at 3.25 and I am in the process of taking meds for it but it would be cool if acupuncture can help the drug along. I need my TSH to be 2.5 or lower by my recheck in a little under 4 weeks.

1. If you do go, How many times a week do you get it done?

2. I set up my first appt for next Wednesday because I read that people start as early as 3-4 months before hand and I don't have that time. I am expecting AF around Sept 24ish so there is a small chance of pregnancy for my appointment next week. With my history with having a baby, I am 99% sure it will be a BFN. When I set up the appointment online it asked if I was pregnant. I wonder if I should reschedule my appointment for a few days after my expected AF to be sure.

My insurance company has a deal under their "Complementary Medicine" which is below:

GHC-SCW is proud to be the first area health plan to provide a Complementary Medicine benefit to its members. Complementary Medicine and Wellness services, when provided within the Center by a GHC-SCW Complementary Medicine practitioner, are limited to 50% of the first $750 in eligible charges, with a maximum payment by GHC-SCW of $375 per member per calendar year.

I would only have to pay $35 a session until I reach the $375 yearly limit.

Is anyone doing acupuncture? Just curious.

I have both done it, and not done it with essentially equal results. I enjoyed doing it, but life just got too hectic to do it with my last cycle and it was all out of pocket (about 90/session).
My practitioner had a fertility specific plan, that involved I think around 8 visits total a few during stims, and most importantly around transfer time just before and a couple days after. I never had the time (or money) to do it for months ahead of time.
As far as the chance that you are pregnant, my practitioner actually has many pregnant clients as it can help with pregnancy woes. If you're worried you could mention it to her, but my guess is she'd say it doesn't matter.
With a bit of coverage, I'd say go for it! I always found it relaxing, and that's very much needed during the process.

Hey!
You know I go to accupuncture w/ this IVF.
I go twice a week and have even started drifting into a half-sleep during the 40 minutes. It is so relaxing. My practicioner also does cupping on me front and back. I didn't do it with my failed fresh cycle this summer, and I am pretty confident about my FET chances this month. I pay $60 per session or $120 per week. Kinda steep, but its going to be worth it!

Hey Christy -

I think you and Chouli both know I'm an acupuncture girl all the way. If not for anything, I just think it helps get things in sync to set you up for the best possible outcome with IVF. I did it for my first IVF and I did get pg, but we know my crappy eggs caused my chemical. I did it again this time with my DE cycle and I am now 9 weeks. I actually still go as it really helps with my "all day" sickness. When I went - I would go twice a week and depending on where I was in my cycle would determine where she would needle. I paid for the "membership" so now only pay $40 a session and it's worth every dime. Like Chouli said, I get so relaxed I fall asleep - it calms my mind and body.

The acupuncture went well. She put the pins on the top of my feet, legs, stomach and a few on my face. I think I actually dozed off during the
