I noticed you mentioned one of your favorite hobbies is quilting...I am determined to learn to quilt, but have no idea how to even begin to learn. Do you have any recommendations? I have an aunt who is a very gifted quilter, but she lives three hours away, and I have a friend who just opened her own quilt store, but she lives in California. Do you have any thoughts on how I could teach myself or do you think I'd need to sign up for a class? Was this a hobby passed down to you through your family or are you self-taught?
I figure quilting could be a great distraction while TTC!

My mother started quilting about 15 years ago. Like you, I saw and was interested, so I took a class. That is how I would start if I were you. Take a class at a quilt store or a local college (MATC offers quilting classes). If you have some basic sewing knowledge then a begining class is where to start, well even if you don't, a class is the way to go.
I have no idea what quilt shops are by you...Sussex? is that where you are from? I will ask my mom what is near there.
You will need all the "tools of the trade". You know quilting is a very expensive hobby, you will need all kinds of stuff. The material alone can cost a fortune. What type of sewing machine do you have?
Maybe the closest class will be near me, then we can visit!!
We have been terribly busy. Then with this new lay-out here, I come on-line, to check the board and then I have to sit and figure stuff out...yuck!! The adoption process is almost over, the case worker was wonderful. She said that this will go fast and we should get prepared!! We have to take classes, they start next week. I am nervous and excited all at the same time!!
I have to get going! Chat later!
Take Care,
Julie
I am so thrilled to hear the adoption process is speeding along! I thought you weren't going to be able to take that class until the fall...did they get you in an earlier one? What was the home inspection like? Keep us updated as much as possible...I'm so excited for you!
