What do you think about this Chicago school that is banning homemade lunches, either the students eat the cafeteria food or go hungry:

I don't think the school has a right to banish homemade lunches. I can see wanting to make the school lunches healthier, but to ban lunches from home is ridiculous to me. I wouldn't want my children eating the school lunch and definitely wouldn't want to pay for them to.

I agree, there should be some better monitoring on what kids are bringing to school (allergy related and unhealthy) but saying the kids have to go hungry is absolutely ridiculous! And what about parents who can't afford cafeteria prices? Parents and teachers both need better education if this is where things are headed. We have a bit of a problem In my kids' school with unhealthy choices being sent- IMO pizza pops and dunkaroos are NOT quality meals.
