I'm not sure if I'm looking forward to them or not, it's been nice having some free, unscheduled time. Good thing they like it though and it doesn't stress me out getting them to their activities. Did you see this article about how being overscheduled can affect the parents: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/08/13/your-money/childrens-activities-no-guarantee-of-later-success.html

The boys have soccer starting next month, and they also do scouts. Religious Ed also starts in October :)

I believe that being over scheduled isn't good for the parents or the child. I like us to have some not scheduled time together throughout the week. It helps us to stay connected as a family and promotes creativity and imaginative play.

DS will be in Scouts. DD wants to take art classes and we are trying to decide if Awanas will work for us this year. We are concerned that we have to get up early on Thursday morning for our Classical Conversations classes.

I agree, ove scheduling just causes stress and takes away the whole point of extracurricular axtivities IMO My two younger one will go in gymnastics and my six year old in soccer. Hockey will probably start in October, so we will be moderately busy. Over the summer we only had six baseball practices and then day camp so we haven't been swamped thankfully.

It is nice to be moderately busy! I like having free time at home with the kiddos so we can play cards, games, watch movies together or read a loud. If I don't get that time I find myself getting irritable. I guess I am a homebody at heart! :)
