get a Mom's time out? I know as Mom's we wear so many hats and are on call 24/7. Do you take some time to recharge your batteries, so you are refreshed?
Not often enough! I always feel too guilty to take time for myself during the day, especially if the house is dirty or there is laundry to do. I have to force myself to leave it sometimes so I can scrapbook. But then I am usually up late at night cleaning the house, LOL, because I can't go to bed if the house is messy!
I would LOVE a girls lunch out one of these days, most of my friends work though so it's next to impossible to arrange something!
I hear you, Beth. I don't take enough time for myself either! I have been trying to go see a movie with my best friend once a month! I have been up all night cleaning my house too. I like to clean when no one is around, so since I home school and DH is up in the afternoons as well as my oldest is home some during the day, it is just easier for me to clean at night!
I tape shows too and watch them when the kids go to bed. My DH works nights during the week, so I try to catch up on my shows! I need to start getting up earlier in the morning to get my exercise done before the kids wake up. Fun nights at home are the best!!! :)
NO - I don't!!!! That is one thing that DH has been bugging me about as we both try to get me back to my normal pre-fertility treatment stressmonster self!
Today, however, I took a 3-mile walk and it felt great. Felt a little guilty not being with DH and DD on the holiday, but it was only about 45 minutes and I really needed it.
I am SUCH a list maker, but DH can't understand why I don't book 'me time' into my lists.
How do we fix this ladies??? What a stress-reliever if we actually have proper time to ourselves!
Go Aimee! That is awesome that you took that walk today! I think we are better women, mothers and wives when we take care of ourselves. I am a list maker too and I have started scheduling exercising and at least one other thing that I want to do during the day! It might only be reading one magazine article, but that 10-15 minutes of peace is so refreshing! Today I painted my toe nails and read some of my book while they dried!
What I need to stop feeling guilty about is getting a sitter so DH and I can have some time together. DH wants to go away for a weekend and I get this pit in my stomach when I think about it. I know the kids will be fine with a grandparent, but I don't know if I can be away from them that long!!! EEKK!
No more packing lunches or any household chores during your time! I find myself doing the same thing. I am always folding clothes, dusting or straightening up while watching TV. Multi-tasking is not good! :D
Yay for that 'me' time! I am with you, Melissa! I am beginning to realize I can't survive without that time. I noticed I am more agitated and grumpy when I don't get it!

I am all for relieving tension and stress!!! :)
I'm bad about not getting enough "me" time either ladies.
