There are some interesting ones. I've heard about the Vick's on your feet before, but have never tried it. Listening to the older kids sniffle all the time really makes me long for the days of using the bulb syringe!

I hear you about the bulb syringe! DD has a runny nose this week and it constantly sniffling or blowing her nose. We use local honey to soothe sore throats and to keep the allergies at bay. I have never tried the Vicks on the feet one either.

I swear by the vicks on the feet! I have no idea WHY it works, but my kids hate the smell of vicks and won't allow it near their nose, and even fuss breathing in their chest. I put it on their feet and put socks or footie jammies on them and five minutes later they stop coughing! It lasts most of the night, a lot longer than on their chests.

I have also found using the Benylin plug in vaporizer tabs work better (and less messy) than a vaporizer. It is like a glade plug in contraption and you put disposable little tabs in it, and it makes the air very very menthol-y and keeps the cough at bay without Medicine. The tabs can be used for two nights if you remember to unplug it first thing in the morning and you don't have to worry about emptying water to avoid bacteria in a vaporizer as well.
