What a beautiful birth story!! I cant believe you gave birth vaginally to twins!! wow...you go girl!

My story starts in Sept 03. After two m/c's I went to see an RE. He put me back on clomid in April 04 and I conceived my son. I was terrified! I cried at the fact that I was pg because I couldnt handle another m/c. The Lord heard my cries and blessed me with a boring pregnancy :) I got gestational diabetes and the dr was convinced he was huge. I was due Jan 8, but he said I needed to be induced at 38 weeks due to his size. I am a tall girl, almost 6' so he didnt seem that big to me....I had lots of room for him lol. So on Dec 27 (I refused to have him on Christmas) at 38w 3d I went to the hospital to get pitocin. They broke my water within 30 min of me walking in the door and luckily I was 3cm and 100% efaced when I arrived. They couldnt tell if I was contracting or not after the pitocin. WHAT??? I was in so much pain I swore I was dying and told dh that I was not going to make it. Something had to be wrong for no human being could stand so much pain and live lol...needless to say I got the epidural as soon as I could. It took that anesthesiologist (?) over an hour to come. I was so mad all I could do was cry and try to yell at him..but he had the drugs so I held back. My epidural was fantastic. Couldnt feel a thing. At 9am I was dialated to a 4 and so they kept uping the pitocin. By noon I was 10. My dr actually said to me that he was going on vacation later today and didnt want to be here all day and thats why he cranked up the pitocin so much. I switched drs after that! After pushing for 2 hrs I told the nurses that he was not coming out. I could see his head but I couldnt get him down the cananl..after another hour his heartrate started to drop. The nurses ran from the room and the dr ran in and grabbed the vacuum. He pulled him out at 3:57pm I didnt know what I was having so when he was born the dr held up his rear end so I could see lol I soooo wanted a boy!! He was perfect and my 'huge' baby weighed 7lb 5oz...lol I named him Elijah David.

I had several complications after his birth...I had a 4th degree tear and had to have surgery 2 days later for a vaginal wall hemotoma. My stitches also became infected and had to be removed and redone!! OUCH! I could not sit on a toilet for 6 months.

I seriously might consider a c-section if I give birth again.

Wow...mine got long too lol sorry for the novel :) lol

My dh and I got married in 96. Two years later, my husband and I decided to start ttc. We both went in for physicals. Thank godness I pushed my dh to go in for one, because w/i a month he was diagnosed with stage iv hodgkins disease. We banked dh sperm at a clinic and started chemo within 2 wks. (counts were infertile; below 20 mil /ml. We still froze them, because chemo can make you sterile.) We put the baby plans on hold - - dr's orders. He said we can not even think of ttc until all the chemo is out of his body. He went through 10 mths of chemo and 1 yr after that on steriods. So, when we could, we started ttc.

When I went off of the pill, my cycles were irregular. I charted my cycles, and my dr said I wasn't Oing. I had HSG, ovary tests, and some other test where they actually took a camera and looking inside my body for scar tissue, endo, etc. Every test came back fine.

As for my dh, his s/c improved a bit. (improved to around 40 mil/ml) We ttc for 3 yrs. Finally, we decided to go to a fertility clinic 2 hrs away. We went there for 1 yr, trying IUI w/clomid 9 times. All bfn. We took a break for 6 mths or so. We were getting ready for IVF. We decided to try IUI w/clomid at my dr office, and we had 2 preg w/i 4 mths. (one m/c, one for ds)

My preg. was pretty normal. I gained 45 pounds. But, I was rarely sick, which was good.

My ds was due around Christmas. We decided to induce early because we did not want to have him on Christmas. But, thankgodness we did not have to! My water broke the night before! My labor after that was fast. I went from 2 - 8 cm in 6 hours. I had an epidual, but it did not work very well. My ds and I heart rates were extremely high during all of labor; over 160 beats per minute. I had a lot of blood, so my dr ordered a c-section six hours into my labor. I had ds (Luke) one hour later. 7lbs, 4 oz.

I love sharing this story. When my dh was diagnosed with cancer, it was the worse day of my life. However, the day my ds was born was the best day of my life!

DH and i married in 2000. in 2004 we decided to ttc. we waited because we wanted to be financially secure. my doc said, "no time is a good time to have a baby. you'll always be waiting for the perfect time." glad i listened to her. the first month of trying we conceived naturally. we were very lucky!

i gained 42 lbs (i'm 5'4"), i was all belly too. everyone thought i was going to have a boy until we found out at the 5 month u/s - we couldn't wait to find out. it was a surprise to find out then too.

my EDD was 10/31 - i loved telling folks that. "yes, she's due on halloween" however, she didn't arrive on halloween. i just had a feeling though that she was going to be a november baby and she was...5 days later.

i was really uncomfortable and called my sister who's a midwife. she said to go to a quiet space and talk to the baby. so i did and 3 hours later at 5:45 literally five minutes before DH came home i started to have contractions. we left the house at 9 b/c i did'nt know what i was having were contractions - LOL! we drove in the pouring rain (barometer/air pressure dropping) to the hospital - thank goodness it's only 30 minutes away.

get there, they admit me. i can't even remember the numbers, i think i was 2 cm dialated and only 25% effaced. i wanted to do natural childbirth - LMAO! i could not get comfortable. they had the birthing balls, tubs to relax in, etc., nothing. so finally i decided that an epidural would be a good idea. i'm not good at relaxing so i knew that my body wouldn't have dialated. i'm glad i did that.

the resident, yes, resident who did my epidural was so nervous. he kept dropping stuff. i just looked at my DH and with this face like, "oh no!" but i didn't say anything b/c id idn't want to make the resident any more nervous! i had the epidural with a button that you could press for more. i doozed on and off until about 5 a.m. the OB broke my water sometime then.

i was pressing that button without realizing how much. i realized that i could not feel my legs. i mean, i could feel them but not feel them. you know like when your arm or leg fall asleep? it was like that feeling. i started to FREAK! then i realized that my reaction was me going into the transitional stage of labor and then i calmed down a bit. but i asked the aethesiologist (sp?) to turn down the dosage of my epidural - i couldn't take it any more.

at 8 i was dialated and effaced ready to push, but DD was not in position yet. OB wanted the contractions to help straighten DD out which it did. i love the OB practice where i went. they are all instructors/professors of harvard medical school. then i got this urge to push at 9 a.m. i told DH to find the nurse and the OB. they came and said, okay DD was in position. i literally pushed for 30 mnutes!

i was sooo lucky. minor tears. my placenta had a hard time coming out too and the OB messaged my belly (that's a nice way of putting it - jennifer it does hurt like heck!). when DD's head popped through all the amnio fluid came gushing out like a geyser (sorry TMI) that was the rest of the 35 lbs or so.

ooh, usually epidurals wear off 30-45 minutes after it's taken out. nope, i could not feel my legs for 8 hours after they took the thing out - now that was scary! goodness, i can't believe that i almost forgot that.

DD weighed a grand 6 lbs 3 oz and was 19 1/2 inches long!

i cried so loudly after giving birth that my OB thought something was wrong with me. the truth be, i never thought i would marry or have kids, but i am so glad that i met my DH and that we have our beautiful DD.

geez, now that was a novel! ;)
