The age old question, when to test?

I'm just expending pent up anticipatory energy here and whining about how I don't know when I should finally test. You guys know what I mean, the phase where you are beginning to think "Maybe tomorrow isn't that early" while also thinking "But right now I don't know I'm not pregnant and I still have hope until it's confirmed". Ah yes, the joys of waiting to test. With my last pregnancy I didn't even begin to get a faint, faint, faint positive until 12 dpo. I got my blood positive at 9 dpo. Today I'm 9 dpo. I could go into my clinic and get a blood test whenever I want, but I can't decide if I should do that (I think maybe last time I was lucky to get it positive as early as I did) or if I should just wait it through the weekend like a normal person and POS at 11 and 12 dpo (sat and Sun respectively). Argh!!!

I'm feeling your frustration. I think I'm on the same general time frame as you are, too. Today I'm 9 dpo and my FF has started talking about the percentage of HPT with different test brands. I have a test sitting up in my bathroom right now that is SCREAMING for me to open it, but I have a gut feeling that it will be a BFN, so I'm trying to wait. My AF is due around Tuesday, so I'm about 6 days out. I'm going to try to wait until the weekend.

I started temping this cycle and my temp went up a second time by about 0.1 from yesterday, but it's too early to tell. If by the weekend my temp stays up, but I'm trying to wait. I think the 14 dpo rule is pretty good to go by for an accurate result, but that doesn't make it easier to wait.

I hear ya.

I'm due for AF anywhere from Sunday to Tuesday as well. UGh I sure hate waiting. With neither of my kids did I wait too long because the first time I didn't realize I was pregnant but had a blood test that confirmed it and last time I had the blood test so early that I never really had to wait. My best friend is pretty firm that I should wait and not go in and get the blood test because she thinks it is "cheating" but I'm a little anxious.

Hey there ladies, I wanted to put my input in here, I had a baby in Jan 2011 and I charted my temps so I was pretty sure of ovulation, I got a pos preg test with a first response early result at 7dpo (could have been 9dpo also) and it wasn't with fmu.

I know with my last I didn't get a bfp until 12 dpo, and that one was so faint that if I hadn't already known I was preggers via blood test, I would never have considered it a bfp.

Thanks :) I tested this morning at 10 dpo and got a bfn, but I'm not really surprised. As I said above, with my last pregnancy I didn't even get the faintest of bfps until 12 dpo. Now I just have to restrain myself from getting a blood test done... at least until tomorrow lol I am not ready to know if it is for sure bfn yet.

I'm truly awful at waiting! lol I broke down, at the insistence of my other TTC best friend and poas this morning even though I'm only 10 dpo and know that really that is too early to test. Of course it was a BFN! Then I broke down secondarily and went to get my blood drawn at the clinic. I don't get to call in for results on that until tomorrow afternoon. It's an automated thing and they read off different PIN numbers for negatives and positives. It's an anxiety ride while they read off the positives! Anyway, I'm glad I did go today otherwise I would have had to wait to get results until Monday (which I would have known by then by POAS anyway) but I'm ridiculous. What can I Say for myself? :P My husband is convinced that I am, which I should know by now is no indicator. He was also convinced we were having a girl last time and was very wrong. I will admit to you ladies I am definitely having some nausea problems, nothing major, but very slight. I have also been a hormonal basket case these last few days. Either of those things could be nothing at all though I must say the hormonal mood swings are not normal for me, sometimes the nausea is. We shall see... tick tock tick tock.

I ended up breaking down and poas and it was a bfn, but I could have sworn I saw an itty bitty thin line, could have been evap. It was also a blue dye test that was CVS bransd. The First Response Early Result tests I have are at work and I won't be back in the office until tomorrow. I think I got a bfp with my son at about 12 or 13 dpo and it was after a weekend of being nauseous. I am going to test on Sunday morning, I think. Especially if I start having symptoms, which I am a little tired, my temp went up slightly, and I had slightly pink discharge a tiny bit yesterday. Today I'm 10 dpo. FF is telling me to test a week from Saturday, but who knows if I can wait that long.

I hate this part of TTC. The one week wait sucks!

Goodness, a week from Saturday seems a bit extreme. I guess it is a good suggestion on their part to make sure that your result is definitive but geez! Happy waiting :) lol I'm still waiting on my results anxiously.

Did you hear back about your blood test yet? DH convinced me to test this morning. I had just gone to the restroom and temped, so I told him I wasn't sure if I would even have enough to dip a stick in to!
