I hate being new to this... I know there's a lot of waiting to be done and that I should be patient. My SO and I T'dTC for a short time in the early months of the year and I decided to go back on BCP because we had too much going on to even think of TTC. Now we're much more settled down and around the middle of July we went back off the BCP. I had AF July 20th and nothing out of the ordinary afterward. By my calculations, should have ovulated between August 2-6, and we BD'd all of those days to be sure. The following week my breasts were noticeably larger and incredibly tender. This coupled with weird bloating, I was sure something was happening. I have never experienced those symptoms before, either when I went off BCP before or due to AF.
This morning, expecting AF Friday and unable to wait any longer, SO and I agreed to take an EPT. BFN!!! I'm pretty bummed. I know I have to be patient and I know lots of things could have caused my body to behave differently but I was so hopeful that we had conceived on our first month of TTC.
Thing is, women in my family never seem to be TRYING to have a baby, it always seems to be this big surprise to them and everyone else. So I definitely don't know a lot about this waiting game. And I'm already impatient. How do couples manage to do this for months, years at a time?!

If AF isn't due until Friday you could still be pregnant and there just isn't enough HCG in your system to register on the test yet.  My AF was due Monday and I didn't test positive until Tuesday morning (and I tested Sunday and Monday because I suspected I might be based on my temp chart).  I know some of the tests on the market say "good up to 4 days before your missed period", but the reality is it's based on when implantation occurred.  According to my temping, implantation occured for me on Saturday, so I had to wait 2-3 days to see it registed in my urine.....if you implanted late it could mean you have to wait until after AF is due to get a positive.  If you don't get it this cycle you could consider temping as that will help you identify if you have an implantation dip (though not everyone has these) or if your temps are dropping near when AF is due (a sign she is approaching).

I'd say don't get discouraged yet.....you're not out until AF shows :smileywink:

And I completely understand the frustration and I've ever waited 3 months (this time) for my positive.  I also can't imagine some of the struggles other women go through - it's totally unfair :smileysad:
