I just need to vent...

Why is life always complicated? My husband and I finally settled on my being a stay-at-home mom. We're supposed to start TTC again this month.

Wow. This one is tough. I'm in education as well, so I understand how competive the field is. I was lucky to get in and would be nervous to give it up. That being said, my mother was a stay at home mom and I really think that's important as well. This sounds like something that you really need to think about and weigh both the options. You'll know when you've made the right decision.

I would only take the jobif you really want it. If you want to be a SHM more than teach I would not take the job. An hour a way commute each day? Thats 2 hours per day away from home, plus your 8 hours of work. I would love to be a stay home mon. Another thing to consider, finances. Can you guys have the life you want with one salary? If so, I would stay home. I would list all the pros and cons and make my decision based on that.

It is a tough call, but considering you keep bouncing back & forth about whether to ttc or not & your current financial situation, perhaps you could test drive the position until the end of the school year & postpone your decision until then? It's really not that far away. It might help put things in more perspective. As much as you want a baby, solidifying you & dh's financial stability is important too. Plus, you could put the extra income aside as a cushion if you do decide to stay home?

You're right -it's nice to be wanted & have your experience & abilities & general "awesomeness" acknowledged. It sounds like a great opportunity. Especially when it's practically gift wrapped & handed to you!

Decisions, decisions!!

DH says I have to take the job. He won't force me to, he just thinks it's the right move. All he sees are dollar signs.

I told DH that I'm going to TTC no matter what. He's not happy with that. Says the job is too risky to the baby, says I'll miscarry if we do get pregnant.

I go talk to the directors on

Update:
Went for an interview. Interview went well. Turned down the job anyway. No amount of money is worth being as stressed out as I was this week.

Well I'm glad that you made the decision that was right for you. Some jobs are not worth the stress that comes with it.
