DH - Depressed?

So my DH wanted to have a serious conversation w/ me last night.

He "isn't feeling like himself" and is tired a lot, and completely unmotivated. Basically, I think he may be depressed.

There is reason: we found out that we were pregnant on Valentine's day 2009 and lost the baby one week later. We got pregnant again in May (our first month TTC) and lost our little girl at 11 weeks due to Turner syndrome. We had a dear friend's brother pass away just a few weeks ago at the age of 24.

On top of all that, we started TTC this month. I'm confused b/c I want a baby - and I know he does also, but I don't want to try to be pregnant and needy when he is so clearly in need right now. I want to start a family in the best possible circumstances. I also want him to be as happy and excited as he has been the last two times. I'm afraid that he will be jaded and depressed and may not bond to the baby while I'm pregnant. Our OB told us that we have no cause to believe that we won't have a healthy child the next time.

Wow - You seem so strong!

I know that he doesn't want to see a therapist, but I'm hoping that he will take advantage of the counseling program at our church - we have a great one where you help other people deal with grief.

Thanks for the advice - I'm sorry for what you have to deal with!
