I get a crazy phone call today. A woman who says she's the our new dog's "foster mom" and that he requires daily medicine and that the shelter lied to me and that she needs him back. Swears he's better with her. So, I took the dog, met her at the shelter, and talked there. She was right, the dog loves her to death. So I gave him back. Dog didn't even look at me, he was so happy to see her again.

I'm

How terrible! Why did they let you adopt a dog that belonged to someone else?? I hope you're feeling better soon!

How sad! Have you thought about adopting a dog from a different shelter, one that hopefully won't lie to you?
Hope you feel better soon and its just something minor.

I am so sorry you are being dealt such a lousy hand right now. :( *hugs*

As for the dog situation, don't feel discouraged that an 8 year old dog didn't warm up to you right away. If I were you, I would look into getting a puppy or younger dog (and from a different shelter, in my opinion!). They are way more affectionate and if you raise them they will grow to love you. Or, I'm not sure if you are a cat person, but kittens are adorable and if you find the right one they can be super loving and affectionate. And are a little less work than a dog. My cat will sit with me and watch a baseball or football game, I love her!

Thanks everybody. I hope I feel better soon. I'm a worrier (Google is so dangerous when you have medical symptoms.) I'm scared of an endometrial infection because of all the abdomenal pain. I know I'm just being paraniod, though. It would probably help if we got our furnace to work so I wasn't shivering all night. Hopefully that will happen next week. Lex, cats would suit me better, but I'm highly allergic. Like, emergency meds to keep breathing allergic. So cats are out. There are tons of shelters nearby, I'm sure we'll find the right

This is a terrible thing! How and why would those idiots lie to you to get you to adopt a dog. Why didn't they tell you about the daily medicines the dog requiered? Did you speak to a supervisor? in my eyes the needed to give you another dog because they messed up BIG time.....I am so mad just reading about this.....unless you don't want a dog now???

So sad! Hope you feel better soon. HUGS!

Ugh! This is the last thing you need to deal with right now. I usually reserve my eff bombs for af, but I think the incompetent dumbasses at the shelter are definitely worthy of an eff bomb, or two!!

Are you going to get another dog? I definitely second going to another shelter. There's so many dogs out there who need love & you have so much to give. I know everything seems so crappy right now, because it is! Stay away from dr google -that could only make things worse. Fxd you get through all this crap really soon :)

We brought home two dogs from a new shelter on a trial basis. They're 8 month old siblings, little sheltie mixes. We have a week to decide if we keep them. For now, they're just happy not to be in their kennels. I plan on taking them around lots of strangers and little kids this week. I need to make sure they can handle babies before we decide to keep them. DH was worried that I was not wanting to TTC anymore, since I'm dog
