How to raise Sperm Count?

After taking Clomid cd 4-8, yesterday morning I had my first IUI. Our RE hadn't wanted to test DH's sperm before then, so I guess we just had no reason to expect anything was wrong. The doc gave us the report after performing the IUI - instead of the 20 million per cc the Doc would have liked to have seen - DH only had 9 million.

Just in case (and my fingers and toes are crossed that I will never need this advice and that we will get pregnant this cycle), are there any vitamins/certain foods or drinks DH should be using to bump up his count on his own??

Please let me know if you have any suggestions or things that worked for your partner! Thank you in advance!!

I know that some of the members have their dh's on some vitamins or supplements like Fertilaid, and have also restricted alchohol/tobacco intake, both can effect fertility.

Hi,

You may want to look in to Maca root for raising sperm count. My DH doesn't use this (we are on cycle 2 TTC), but the lady at WholeFoods told me a fun story about Inca men using it because it increased libido. Apparently a recent study confirmed the increase in libido for some men, as well as increased sperm count. I am including a link to the research articles:

I didn't read these articles in depth. I don't really know anything more about it, you def want to do your own research before deciding. These past three months I haven't O'ed at all so I am not even thinking about DH's sperm right now. Haha...yeah, my ticker may say it is O day for me, but that is just wishful thinking!

My dh used procreation vitamins. He didn't have any issues with low count but it did work to raise his numbers.
