IVF in June-any

Dh & I had a long talk and we decided to go for ivf (skipping injectables iui). We'll have one more clomid iui, then a month break since we'll be traveling around my O time, then go for ivf in June. I'm scared & kind of in disbelief that its actually come to this point, but I think it was the right decision. We've been trying for 18 months, I'll be 35 this year & the cost of injectables iui cycle was going to be about 4k, with not all that great chances of success but much greater chance of multiples.

My question is for anyone that's been through this or has been looking into ivf, what resources did you like best-books, websites, etc. What can you recommend to help us educate ourselves on the process?

Hi Holly,

I'm sorry your journey has taken this long and has turned to IVF.

Hi,

My DH and I are also going to go through IVF. I think we are going to go in May though. I like to look up fertility clinics web sites and go there. The one that Laura mentioned is one of my most visited as well. They have great pictures and very in detail information. I just wanted to let you know that you are not alone in this process. I will know more once I get my calendar.

Take Care,

Darla

Holly,

((((Hugs))) When we decided to pursue IVF, I became pretty active on the IVF board. It takes a lot of scariness out of it, and is truly inspiring to see how many people get BFPs every day on there (in contrast to the IUI board, where there is like one BFP a month).

I have a ton of books (LOL. You know me! *Blush*) on IVF, one of them is my favorite (and dang, I can't recall the name). It was the one Amy read with me. Anyways....

Just shoot me an email with your address, and I can ship my IVF books to you. I have about 5 or 6 of them, so it will keep you busy for a few weeks :-)

One more thing, dear friend.

When we decided to do IVF, there was a period of mourning where we were in disbelief that it had come to that. But once you get used to it, the next feeling is excitement and this euphoria that you will very likely end up with a baby soon.

IVF is not some horrible end-of-the-road dread. It is the closest thing to a guarantee of a baby that modern science can bring in 2009.

Here's to your little one (or two!)!

Hi! I will be doing IVF starting in April, starting Lupron on April 20.

I have posted on the IVF board, but find it to be real slow so if you find any great resources, please share them here!

Good luck!!!

Hi Megan!

I am so excited to see you are doing IVF :-) I will be doing it in June/July. well, possibly. I am on BCP this cycle (can't try anyway because of surgery), I am going off of them next cycle to try naturally, and if it doesn't work I will go back on them in the 3rd cycle so that I can have IVF the 4th cycle...

Glad to see a post from you!
