My RE appointment

So everything was going really well at my RE appointment. Things are pretty much the way they were when I was trying to get pregnant with Wyatt. I am mostly healthy and have had healthy pregnancies. It seemed like they were going to run the blood tests to check my hormones and my thyroid and do an ultrasound to see if any of the endometriosis has come back that I had removed last time. Then her partner says "The only problem we have is your weight ... I will go consult with your doctor on that." So they both come back and she says my weight is the only issue. I told her my weight is only about 30 pounds heavier then it was 3 years ago when she helped me get pregnant. She said Mayo has new rules that say your BMI has to be 40 or lower and mine is 58. She let it slide last time but my weight has increased this time and now Mayo has that rule. They will break the rule if I can prove that I am making an effort to lose weight and I am healthy. Otherwise I have to lose 100 pounds before we can start with Clomid again. I agreed to see a nutrionist and possibly a specialist in the weight loss clinic. I have a 3 hour glucose test on Wednesday. If I am pre diabetic or diabetic they will put me on Metformin. Basically my worst case scenario came true. I was afraid she would say you weigh to much and have to lose weight before we help you get pregnant and that is exactly what happened. I get it but I am still mad and upset. But really there is nothing else I can do. Mayo rules everything out here and Mayo is what Ethan's insurance will pay for. So I have to play by their rules and keep trying to get pregnant on my own until I either get pregnant or lose enough for them to give me Clomid.

I am so sorry. If the issue is diabetes or PCOS related, and you do get put on the metformin, that can improve your chances of TTC even if you don't get the Clomid right away. I know how frustrating it can feel to be "on hold" for much longer than expected. (((HUGS)))

I'm so sorry that that was what they told you. I'm sure it's frustrating to hear that. FX'd that you can speak with the nutritionist and get more active now that the weather is starting to get better. I hope you can get going on treatment quickly.
