So I went last week for my yearly and wanted to make sure I talked to him about the 12 month mark we had just come upon...So he asked if we were still TTC and if I was using OPKs. I told him I was charting and yes we are still TTC, this was month 12. he told me that the all talked about 12 month mark isnt really right and it should be drawn out to 18 months, so he wont be getting worried till 18 months....AHH that is not what I was expecting...I have not read anything about 18 months being normal...So I guess I will keep doing what were doing for another 6 months with no answers why we have not been able to concieve...how frustrating...another thing he said that I wondered about is that he didnt think he had anything to do with my DH because we have a 2yr old DD and the chance of a man to go from being able to concieve to not at all is not very high. so what am i doing wrong...I have lost weight, but havent since november since he thought that was the problem, I am only 29, I eat a healthy diet take my vitamins...and I am Oing and

That sounds very frustrating! I don't think our Dr's understand the seriousness of TTC for many of us. For that matter, probably not any issue that we might consider serious. Nonetheless, I guess at least he isn't freaking out yet. Take that as a good sign and take his advice and go another six months. Hopefully like you said, this month will be it for

I hear you on the frustration. My obgyn actually recommended we do clomid b/c I ovulate really late in my cycle and then have a really short luteal phase, but DH who has seen 2 of our family members go on clomid and end up w/triplets will not even consider it right now...even though the dr. tried to reassure him that it doesn't increase the risk of triplets hardly at all, but does substantially increase the chance of twins (which isn't as big of a deal to us). On the other hand, I understand our DH's wanting to let nature take it's course & I also don't think they are so concerned about it if it takes awhile like we are. I'm sorry it's taking so long & I really hope you get that bfp soon and can move on. I also am 29, and gained weight b/c the dr.'s told me to (and now after gaining 15 pounds and still no healthy pregnancy I kinda wish I hadn't gained weight bc I don't feel very comfortable in my body right now). Now we moved last month (across country) I have to find a new obgyn & know no one here, blah. I think obgyn's really differ in their opinions about things, so if your DH gets to the point he's willing to get more serious about things maybe switch obgyns? Hang in there.

Super frustrating! I'm in the same boat as you -healthy, vitamins, O'ing, great bd timing & still nada. The RE says I fall into the 15% group of unexplained IF which just sucks. I think your dr is out to lunch with waiting til the 18 month mark -I've never heard of this & I google stuff all the time! I can understand not wanting to pursue options like meds, iui, etc *but* I do think they could run bloodwork to make sure everything is where it should be. Hormones & such can change dramatically following pg & bf'ing & perhaps they need some minor tweaking? That being said, I'm holding out hope that af stays far, far away :)

Ah, Becky! That is so frustrating! First off, can I just say that I read an article a couple months ago that said men play a part in fertility more than what was orginally thought. According to this, most OB/GYNs have blamed the women for years but come to find out, men are now more likely to blame with fertilty issues because of all the increase in chemicals, food, weight and so on and so on. So that was kinda crappy to say that just because DH has a child that he's not the problem. You know, after having 3 of my own, it took me 10 months...shouldn't I not be the problem? Okay, that's my rant! ;) Oh wait, I'm going to rant about the 18 month too! Bull hockey! I certainly hope you don't have to wait that long. I know it feels like forever but you're doing everything right and that's all you can do. I would suggest the new Dr. too even if it's just to have someone different in the long run. Anyway, hugs girl! I'm thinking of you!

Thank you ladies.....It is nice to be validated and I know I can get that here,,,,,My doc ran bloods a few months ago because I told him my LP has been short and my O has been late almost evey month and he told me they all came back nomal..I was really surprised by this but this time he said we could try prog to see what happened. my prog was 14 when he ran the tests.
Ya I am a big googler too and I have never read anything about 18 months being more accurate but really and truly I guess in 6 months we may have a better idea what we are doing with dhs job so I guess I am sue it will go by fast. so now waiting fo AF to come....
The EPS/AF symptoms are driving me crazy right now. my BBs are so sore but then agian I see my chart.....thank you ladies again for reading my vent...once we get close to the 6 months and we know more what we are doing I think I will see about a different doc....thanks

I thought you had b/w but wasn't sure...it's tough to keep track of everyone! I've read mixed reviews of progesterone levels...I know 14 is considered normal by many but I've read of dr's who like to see it over 20...who freaking knows is all I can say!!! Fxd af doesn't catch you too! If she does, are you gonna use the soy isoflavones again next month?

ya the doc said he like to see it over 20 but 14 is within normal....he doesn't believe that prog is the problem. He doesn't believe that that could be a reason i am not getting pregnant. so yes, who knows....No I dont think I am going to do soy again. I have done 3 months of it and I have read you should do it in 3 month cycles and take a break. so I will take a break for a couple months and try again. I have stopped taking the b6 and vitex as well. If AF finds me I am going to try and do a cleanse and get by PH regular and see if that helps. but no fanny pack for a while......low stress as much as TTC can be.
