Terrified...

First off this is my and my husband first real month of trying. We went to have everything checked out on August 1 and the doctor gave us the thumbs up to start trying he just wanted me to get my yearly mammogram. I am 33 years old and have a strong family history of breast cancer (mother and sister both diagnosed in their 30s). My moms diagnosis was around age 34 and she passed away at age 45. We've come a long way in research since the. My sister was at age 38 almost 3 years ago. She is now cancer free after two mastectomies. She did not want to take the chance of it coming back in her other breast. I am terrified that it may be cancer. However we took advantage of TTC this month as my ovulation time came between appointments. My mammogram was last Monday August 8. I have been having quite a few IPS symptoms which is all I think they are. It would be too good to be true to catch the egg on the first try after 9 months of trying for DD. One of my IPS symptoms is tender breasts with the one they want to smash and probe being the one that hurts the most. My sister says to prepare myself that they will probably make me hurt worse. One of my questions is if I am prego could I have enough changes in my breast already to have thrown off my mammogram results? Next exam is tomorrow. Too scared to tell anyone else around me other than my sister and husband in case it is nothing. If your reading this thanks for reading my rant.

Parying for you. Just keep positive, it could be nothing. I'm sure doctors are being especially cautious in your case.

I'll be thinking about you! Although I don't have a history of breast cancer in my family, I went through the terror of finding a grape sized lump in my breast when DD was only months old. I know the fear that comes with the waiting and not knowing. Thankfully, the lump was a cyst that later went away on its own, which was nothing to worry about. I hope that you find similar results and that the stress and worry is lifted from you very soon!

Thank you all for the positive thoughts. I just got home from the imaging center and it turns out that it was a cyst. Nothing to worry about. Also I told them that there was a chance that I could be pregnant due to this being our first month TTC. So I did not have to have the mammogram because they got all the information they needed from an ultrasound. So no radiation worries if I am pregnant.

They gave them to me at the appointment. I'm all clear. It was a water cyst. The u/s was of my breast. So nothing for me to do now but got back to my normal life including TTC! Yay!!!!!
