I have been TTC since October with highly irregular cycles. I have been having pain in my left side, so i went to the (urgent care) doc yesterday and discovered that i have a gofl ball sized cyst in my ovary!! i need to get an ultrasound done tuesday, but i am glad to know that a cause has been found for why my cycles are irregular and my O's are hard to pinpoint. im guessing i haven't really been o'ng at all from my left side!! i have been reading that BCP don't really shrink them, so i am hoping to find another alternative treatment. i dont want to go back on the pill!! it makes me moody and have migraines!! i know some of you have had cysts. what was your treatment and solution??? she said i may be developing PCOS, but after reading about it, i dont really think i am. i dont really have many of the symptoms or risk factors. she isnt a GYN, so i know this isn't her field.

hi! I had a cyst on my right ovary about 2 years ago. Mine was partially solid/partially fluid filled. Because it was partially solid they had to surgically remove it to make sure it wasn't cancer. My old gyn had told me they would have to remove the ovary but the oncologist was able to save the ovary and just remove the cyst. I still get O pains on that side and my oncoclogist said I should o fine from that side. Not sure though. Surgery was super easy to recover from. I get the fluid filled ones too and they said that when you are hurting your worst is usually when they pop. Is yours just fluid filled? Since the surgery I haven't seemed to have the really bad cysts and luckily was able to stay off my bc. I too get migraines :( if it's just fluid filled it should go away on it's own unless it gets giant and then they will probably have to have surgery. Unfortunately even if it goes away it sounds like your irregular cycles might be from getting a cyst every cycle though I'm no professional obviously. If that's the case I'm not sure what else they can do besides put u back on bc. I know there is a med they can give to help shrink them but i dont know if they would do that every time. Have you tried the low dose bc for your migraines. It never completely got rid of mine but I did notice a difference. Good luck with your US! KUP!
