world's slowest miscarriage

I am so frustrated. We've been TTC#2 since Jan 09. This month, I started spotting at 10DPO, which I hoped was implantation, but it never stopped. On the 18th had a very faint BFP, but started bleeding that afternoon, so I thought I would be done and could start TTC again soon. The bleeding continued, so on 10/26 I POAS'd and nice dark BFP. I started to get hopeful and went in for a blood test, but hCG was only 169 and repeat was 176. Definitely not a ivable pregnancy. I want the levels to start going down so I can just start again! I'm so afraid that they'll declare this an ectopic and want to give me methotrexate. I'd much prefer to just let things take place naturally, but on the other hand, I don't want to risk a ruptured tube.

Sorry for the rant, I'm just frustrated and ready to be done with this so we can get back in the saddle and make a baby!

Hugs! I'm so sorry for your loss.

Kelly

I'm 38, DH is 42 and we are TTC #1. We've had 3 unexplained miscarriages and a bout with Asherman's Syndrome but we're determined.

Thanks Sam :)

I've noticed on one of the other boards htat you are expecting (again) so hopefully I can follow in your footsteps and get another BFP soon. My first PG was so easy, but now my ancient (31 - hee hee) body is working hard to bake a baby.

As long as the numbers start falling, I'll be good. I live in fear of the ectopic.

update:

almost a week later and I think I'm finally making progress. hCG on Monday was 152 (down from 186 on Fri) and bleeding has intensified along with some truly wicked cramps. I've managed to talk the Doc out of methotrexate for the moment, and I don't have to get another blood draw until next Monday (woo hoo! a whole week off for my poor veins)

Well, it's been a full week and hCG has not continued to drop (still around 150) so I am going in tomorrow for the evil Methotrexate. I'd much rather do this than have a laproscopy, as it has a lower risk of subsequent EPs, but I was SO hoping that my boy could just take care of this naturally. I probably just should have had the methotrexate 2 weeks ago when my Dr. wanted me to. Grr. Now I'm at least 3 months from being able to TTC again and my kids will be more than 4 years apart. So not the original plan.

I'm now feeling like my choice to get an IUD after DD was born was a bad one. If we ever manage to conceive again, I think I'll stick with the rhythm method as our birth control of choice.
