Hello! My name is Ellen. I live in upstate NY with my husband, Joe, and our 2 adorable bulldogs :) My sister pointed my in the direction of this site and I have really enjoyed reading through the posts over the last few days. My husband and I have been married since August. Before that time, I was never careful about birth control and thought of myself as 'lucky' for never having gotten pregnant. Not feeling that way now! We have been trying since August with no luck at all. I was told to try an Ovulation Kit. It makes me crazy. I am never sure if I am doing it on the right date or not and it's never come back saying I had an LH surge. My hubby and I head to my Dr. on Monday to see what's up! Welcome, Ellen! I am fairly new here as well, but it has been such a blessing to have the support and information of the ladies on this board. Congratulations on getting married in August....and I know what you mean about being 'lucky' and then being 'unlucky'! I am in the same boat as you, never used much in the form of bc at all, never got pg, got married in July, and have been trying since before we got married, to no avail. I am glad you are going to the doctor right away to see what's up...have you had any bloodwork done yet? I have an appt. next Wednesday that I am waiting impatiently for--it took me three weeks to get into him, after going to my GP a couple of months ago! urrrghhhhhh!!! Anyways, hopefully you will have some answers and will be able to get going on this journey.

I hope you get some quick and easy answers at the doctor!

About OPKs... I didn't like the ones I had to interpret myself... never got too many sticks that looked TRULY positive... switched to digital, and for a few more dollars, I get DEFINITE positive results every month! Yay!! VERY worth it :)

Welcome Ellen!! Before I forget good luck at your upcoming appointment! Fingers crossed you get answers. As for opk's, you may want to try testing 2x a day. I have a short surge so if I only test 1x I would probably miss my surge. I use the internet cheapiestenth the lines & then when the line looks positive I confirm it with the clearblue easy digitals (the smiley face ones). Also make sure you are holding your pee for long enough & make sure you limit fluids or else your pee will be too diluted. Hope that helps :)
