Well not totally, I have 4 lovely children - but I have never printed out a calendar, purchased OPK's, and read up on getting pregnant.

I am Dianne and a CL for the Loss of an Infant board - our sweet baby boy Bregan would be two this month, he passed away when he was 4 days old due to an HEI event during his birth. I have an older son - 19 and he is in the Army stationed at Fort Bragg, I have a spirited 4 1/2 year daughter and our rainbow baby girl that is almost 10 months old! I am 39 and we would like two more children. My DH is in the Army and he may deploy next year, so we don't have as much time as I would like. I also still breastfeeding, but I have had two periods (28 days apart)!

This cycle, AF was around for 7 days (longest in a long, long time) but I attributed it to it being only my second in quite sometime. So I printed out a calendar and I purchased the OPK sticks from Amazon. I am on CD14 and I still haven't seen an LH Surge! The strips have given me the faint line, but the package says that it is negative. I have been testing since CD8 and I have been testing sometimes 2-3 times a day (why not, the text are 50 for $11!). We have been doing the BD 4 of the 6 days so far. I do not temp since I might be up at 5 or 6 am or maybe earlier or later - depending on when the baby wakes up to nurse. She was STN, but hit a growth spurt a few weeks ago!

So I guess I am looking for some good insider info - LOL! I have never done this before - so I do feel a little lost. What are the best websites to go to or guides to follow? Help me out Ladies!

Welcome! I am Lisa and we are ttc our fourth. This is our ninth month...I hope you find success soon :)

If you aren't temping, then that pretty much only leaves OPK's and checking cervical position (CP) and cervical mucus (CM)

You are doing the OPK's which is the most accurate way to pinpoint ovulation, but I found the line ones tricky, and preferred the digital because it gave me a clearer yes or no, but they are more expensive!

Thank you so much for your suggestions! Especially on doing CP checks - I never knew how :smileysurprised:

What OPK do you recommend? I think I have seen a couple of faint lines, but I can't be sure. Also, how many positives am I supposed to have with these sticks?? Ugh! I just don't understand it all!

No problem, it can be very overwhelming and confusing, this ttc business! I live in a very remote farming community and everybody around here figures that you have sex, you have 5 kids, it is that easy, so not too many people around me understand just how complicated the whole process can be ;P

Because I live an hour away from the nearest store to sell OPK's I haven't used them much, but I found them confusing...I tried the two lines one as well, and the instructions say that the test line has to be the same or DARKER than the control line to be a positive.
