First off, I want to say I don't know all the lingo on regards to the abbreviations.. so sorry if it seems longer!

I am 24 years old, my husband and I have been trying for several months now. I didn't realize how obsessed I would become over getting pregnant. We have been married for over 2 years and are so excited!

I am adopted, I pretty much have no family history. I do know my birth mother was 31 when she had her first child, but not sure why. We have been used the ovulation calendars until last month when we purchased the kit. No luck yet. I know everyone says to relax and it will happen, but its so hard when everyone around you is talking about their pregnancy or babies.

Just wondered if anyone has any advice! I'm trying not to worry, but that's my personality to begin with and this situation isn't any different!! Thanks in advance!

Welcome! Don't worry about the lingo -it takes a while to get used to it all. If you scroll down this section there's a post listing all the abbreviations.

We won't tell you to relax! Lol! Don't go by the ovulation calendars - I would miss my fertile window every month if I just used that. I do recommend the opk's to let you know when O is approaching & also bbt charting which will pinpoint when you O. Monitor your cm (cervical mucus) too & get to know when it's fertile ( watery or egg white). Google fertility friend -they have a lot of helpful information if you're interested in charting.

Good luck

Welcome to the board! There is a link to the abbreviations in one of the sections. I will try to bump it up for you so it will be on the main page. I became pretty obsessed quickly with TTC. It's easy to do but by coming here it's a great way to obsess and not ware your DH (dear husband) nerves! There's plenty of ways to obsess about everything. I have to say that I do know a lady who's adopted and doesn't know a thing about her birth mother. Has that affected your thoughts about TTC and having a family? My only advice is try not to stress! obsess, analyze and talk but try not to stress out. Stress has such adverse effects on TTC and health in general. (I lied ... 1 more piece of advce) I'd also say drink a cup of V8 Splash every day. The extra vitamin A will do your TTC bod some good! Wishing you all the best! Baby Dust!

Thank you all so much! I love Fertility Friend! My ovulation calendar ended up being off by 3 days! So, hopefully that information will help me! My DH :) helped me realize I was stressing out too much! (It doesnt help that due to Facebook, I see a whole lot of girls, married or not are getting pregnant!
Being adopted only makes me want children more since in my life I resemble no one. So, this is more than important to me! I was only apprehensive because I didn't know if it took her longer to get pregnant or she just didn't start until later in life.

This month I haven't really tested ovulation as a way to stop stressing out and see how it goes! I will be heading to the store soon and will definitely take your advice! I can I am not as stressed as before even thought it feels like the beginning of the month (my projected start date) is a long way away! Thank you all so so much! And I will take all the baby dust I can get!! :)
