TTC #3!

Hi Everyone!  My husband and I have a four year old daughter and a 14 month old son and are now TTC #3.  I went off of BCP in August 2012 and had two normal cycles, and then in November things got a little wacky.  I have always had a 28 day cycle (since age 13), and in November I missed my period.  Of course, I immediately thought I was PG, as the only periods that I've ever missed were when I was PG with our two kids.  BFN after BFN each day led me to go to the doctor.  They did a blood test which confirmed I was not pregnant.  They assured me that sometimes it's normal to skip a cycle, and sure enough I got my period in December.  But once again here I sit in the same spot that I was in back in November.  My period is now 9 days late ( according to a 28 day cycle).  I took a pregnancy test (ok, maybe a few..lol) and all are BFN.  I have period like cramps which leads me to believe that SOMETHING is going on, but I just don't know what.  My doctor told me that if I continued to miss periods, to let them know, but I'm not sure if they meant if it happens just once more, or a few more times.  I'm trying to be patient, but it's so difficult when we are TTC and I have no idea what's going on.  I don't chart or temp or anything, so I'm not sure I ovulated.  I think my biggest fear is that after two healthy kids something has affected my fertility and I won't be able to get pregnant again.

Does anyone have any advice?  Thanks for listening :)

Hi princessmeagie!  It's hard to say what could be going on, your fertility does decrease as you get older so it might take a little longer this time around.  I would probably give it another cycle or two before contacting your doctor again.  You might also want to consider using OPKs to see if you are ovulating.   It might give you some information to go take with you to the doctor.
