1st Soy Isoflavones Cycle.

I am experimenting with Soy this cycle to try and shorten my cycle. I am hoping to get my cycles down to 28 days or less since I have to wait until I get my next AF to go for my hysterosonogram between cd8 and O so I want O to come earlier than it normally does. I was Oing between cd23 and cd25 so we're hoping for like cd12-cd14. So I'm taking 120mg and I started on cd5 and will go until cd9. Anyone looking to try this I would definately take them before bed lol. They give me hot flashes lol, I woke up the first night drenched in sweat. The second night I didn't have it so I don't know if it was just introducing it that gave me the hot flashes or if I will get them again. On a plus side they don't seem to be messing with my temps to much since they aren't any higher than before I started taking the soy

I tried soy my last cycle and I O'd on CD 17 which is nice and early for me yay! I would normally O between CD 21-26 so it was a huge improvement. I had some headaches but nothing else. It didnt affect my temps either. Hope it works for you!

Hey, I took Soy for the first time this cycle too. I usually O between CD 30-35 days, so I'm definitely looking to move that up. I took (160mg) total, CD 7-12 (I didnt read about it till almost CD6, so I took them a little late). I didnt have any side effects at all, so I'm wondering if my body was even effected by it. I'm on CD 17 and still no obvious signs of O, so I'm thinking it didnt work for me. I was hoping to O closer to CD 20-25 at least, guess we'll see what happens.

when I looked up the information on soy it says to take it the latest cd5-9 maybe it will work later because you took it later.

Soy is good for pregnancy. It increases progestin level, thus helps implantation and prevents miscarriage.

Last cycle I did CD 4-8. This time I'm doing CD 3-8. You can do it any 5 days up to day CD9. So you could go 5-9 also. I've heard before that taking it earlier makes higher possibility of more eggs, later makes a stronger egg. Don't know how true that is though! I took 140mg. Good Luck!

I've been wondering about trying them, but everything that I have read about Soy Isoflavones says that it makes your cycle longer therefore delaying ovulation.

If you have articles proving this is wrong, please forward them to me...I would LOVE to have found something that induces ovulation!!!

One article is http://www.twoweekwait.com/newsletter/2006-01/. Soy works differently for different people. The PCOS board Soulcysters has alot of chatter about soy isoflavones. Women talking about how they don't O at all if they are nottaking clomid or soy and many talking about going from reeeeeaaaaallly llooooooooooong cycles to much more average length cycles. It does state though that it does not work for all women and in some it can delay O, but so can clomid. Soy however doesn't have the side effects like a thinning endometrium and ovarian cysts that clomid can carry with it. Soy works like clomid tricking the brain into producing more lh and fsh which is what causes ovulation. I have long cycles not Oing until around cd24 or later and definately not regular
