$50 and up for Pre-seed on eBay?

Does anyone see anything wrong with this? Other women preying on women who are desperately TTC and are prescribed Pre-Seed, which is currently unavailable from the manufacturer, i really just cant believe it. After going thru what i have TTC, if i had an opened box, the only reason i would sell it is to try to help someone else, not to try to line my pockets from the highest bidder or the most desperate woman who may need it the most...whats next kidneys?

Any thoughts out there?.... i mean its one thing to sell furniture to the highest bidder...but to sell something that may be medically necessary for someone TTC? I think its disgusting.

Incidentally, have you (the general you) ever thought about how much the manufacturer of Preseed is charging? Surely, they're making a huge profit off of women desperate to conceive. And drugstore.com...does it really cost nearly $6 to ship the product?

Something to think about...

Can i ask a really dumb question here?? Are there lubricants that are NOT sperm friendly? I was using Femore---anyone know about that? WOW!! I wish I knew this before TTC.Thanks for any input!

I don't know about Femore specifically, but MOST of the lubricants out there are NOT sperm friendly. Pre-Seed has been the only one many of us know about, and I see there's another one listed above that someone is trying out. You'd better have a little investigation into Femore....it's probably not sperm friendly.

Someone posted here about "Replens" being so-called "sperm-friendly". I think they sell it on drugstore.com, as well. All traditional lubricants are damaging to sperm, unless otherwise specified. But many, many people have become pregnant using them, so it all depends on the strength of the sperm and what they can swim through.

hey I just checked EBAY and the listings for pre-seed started at $9.99 and $15.00, which is certainly not a rip-off, considering I have heard that the drugstore price was $19.99. Ebay is set up as an auction, so it is the people bidding on it that are making the choice to outbid each other for outgrageous prices (currently one batch is at $76.50.) SO instead of blaming someone selling something and who was certainly willing to take a reasonable price, blame the supplier who has caused the lack of supply which has lead to the people that can afford it, to pay whatever it takes to get it. Now, if people start listing pre-seed at 50-100, I would agree that they are being greedy, but right now, no one is doing that that I can see.

That's my two cents...

you dont have to auction to sell on eBay, there is a "buy it now" option and the individuals selling it know exactly what they are doing....yeah consumers are the ones running up the price but you have to recognize the desperation to pay $76( and the auction is not over yet) for a $20 product, these people are trying to have a baby and i would guess desperately so....

i just personally would not make profit off something like that....i believe in bad karma and you are what you create. its the US and people have the right to do as they please and i wouldnt have it any other way....but i dont buy that unleashed"greed" is the american way either.

thanks for the input-

if you dont think these individuals know what they are doing...it may be a little naive.

why do you think they are auctioning it at all? do you really think they are auctioning it off bc they dont know its not available right now? all auctions start low..its nothing more than a pricing strategy. You dont auction something for a week without attempting to get the highest price.

you are correct however that it is the consumers responsibility to not buy into it...but it makes it hard when its such a vulnerable situation for some of these people. i admit that i was tempted by my desperation to have a child bc i am running out of time...but i started getting angry when i realized what was going on.....

hope you can see how this might be different to some people than just really wanting that set of china or whatever.

thanks for your input

After reading all of your posts, I couldn't help but check out Ebay and see what the product was currently going for. ONE BOX IS CURRENTLY GOING FOR $132.50!!!!!! This box started at $9.99 and in 3 days 30 people bid to the current selling price. I agree that it's wrong for other's to take advantage of our desire to conceive, but this particular auction is a good example that the inflated price is due to the consumer and not the seller. I don't imagine the seller who purchased the box for $20 could have imagined that it would end up going for $132.50. BTW....the auction still has 3 hours left. It could still sell for more!
