Helloooo! Lurker here, coming out of lurkdom. Last weekend, we had a BD fest (out of town w/o our 1 year old son). When we got home on Labor Day, I tested my pee with a dipstrip test from a company called Tests for Less ($7 for 20 strips off Ebay). So, it tested that I would be ovulating within 24 to 48 hours, cool maybe our BD fest timing worked right? Well, today Friday, 4 days later the damn test is still showing 2 little lines saying I am about to ovulate? What the heck? Am I ovulating queen or is the test Bogus? Anyone else use these tests before?

Hey Melissa,

I haven't used those particular strip tests, however, I did purchase some from somewhere else, and I find them very hard to read. I'm not real confident about their accuracy. I had some that did not even show a test line when I knew I was getting ready to "O". So, I don't really rely on them anymore. Just remember, the test is not positive just because there are 2 lines. The test line has to be at least as dark as or darker than the control line. Sometimes, that can be difficult to tell. I've used the "Answer" OPKs and they worked very well for me. They seemed to be accurate, but yes, they are way more expensive. GL to you and HTH!!!

I agree with Lisa that the more you invest into an opk...the better it does work...but if you are not on money limitations...I have told other women about this...you can get the clear plan fertility monitor...which takes all the guess work out of the opk's...the computer reads the hormones and gives you an exact answer...and if you are about the o or have oed...then sperm can live up to 5 days in cm...
