Hello Ladies,

I have had overlays on my nails since January and wonder if it is safe to keep them up?

I also wonder about indoor and outdoor tanning?

Thanks for any info.

I think that anytime you go to a nail salon contracting Hepatitis C is always a risk. If you want to avoid that altogether, stay away from any kind of manicure/pedicure. :(

I'm pretty sure about this, but someone else should confirm if they know more.

I know it stinks to grow acrylics out, but if you're taking prenatals sometimes they strengthen nails and hopefully it won't be as bad.

Good luck!!

I think the nails thing is ok. A girl next door is due in october and always has her nails done. Do NOT do the indoor tanning. Outdoor tanning I think is fine but in moderation. Make sure you ask your doctor to make sure.

If your shop uses EMA then you might not want to be going while pregnant. If you can smell a strong odor in the shop they probably use EMA.

If you ask they should tell you whether or not they use EMA. If they say yes or dance around the subject I would consider using a different shop. Below is a link to an article for Nail Techs tat may help you decide.

Thank you ladies for the info. I have noticed that my own nails are growing stronger now. I think I will let them grow out. It is worth it to go through a month of odd looking nails.

Thanks for your honesty.
