Hi there! I'm confused about figuring out my O date. I started spotting on Saturday, 27 days after the first day of my last period. I spotted Saturday, Sunday & Monday. Today I have an actual flow. So, do I try to calculate my O date from the first day I spotted or the first day (today) that I had a flow? And, typically, you O around day 14 right?
You would think I should know this since we are ttc#2! But my cycle was so different before I had my son. Only 19 days! So from day 7-14 we just "tried" every other day. Now I have a full cycle and I'm all mixed up!
Thanks for your help!
Steph

You count the first day of actual (red) flow as Cycle day 1. It isn't really true that you will ovulate on day 14. With a 29 day cycle, you are very likely to ovulate between days 10 and 19. Most ttc things recommend BD (baby dance) every other day during this period for good chances to conceive. If your cycle length varies, or if you just want to know more, you may try charting your temperature and cervical fluid to better pinpoint when you ovulate. People also use ovulation predictor kits or fertility monitors. The web site fertilityfriend.com has a handbook that explains a lot and you can keep track of your chart for free.
I hope this helps and GOOD LUCK!
