Hello Ladies,

Does anyone know if it is possible for AF to be too short to get pg? I have been trying for about 5 months with no luck. My hubby and I have been having perfect timing. However AF only lasts about two days. Any ideas?

Thanks,

I'm not so sure that a short AF has anything to do with it, but more the length of your cycle and luteal phase. Are you charting at all? That would help in determining how long your cycles & luteal phase are. You would also be able to figure out when you are ovulating so that way you could try and conceive around that time period. I recommend the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. It's very helpful in explaining cycles and charting. Good luck.

Well, it *may* have something to do with it. If your AF only last two days, you might not be building up enough endometrial lining for implantation (hence, light shedding of the lining). Just a thought, if you already know ovulation and such. I also agree with the previous poster. Knowing all aspects of your cycle really helps maximize your chances of becoming pg. Good luck.

I did chart for a while so I know approximately when I ovulate each month. I have not been charting the last few months because it was making me crazy...lol.

It just seems weird that AF is so short, I do not know anyone else like this. I am concerned that maybe I can't implant because of this.

Thanks for the replies!

I don't have any answers but I would think one should also take into consideration how heavy the flow is. One gal may have a real light AF for 5 days and another gal may have a real heavy AF for 2...is one better that the other? I wouldn't think so...just different bodies. Perhaps this is a question for you doctor.

best of luck,
