Annovulatory?
| Sun, 08-10-2003 - 10:46am |
This is our 10th cycle TTC but only 3rd cycle charting. The first two cycles I charted were definitely ovulatory with O around CD 22-25 (I've always had long, irregular cycles). This cycle it looks like I haven't even O'd and its already CD37!! What is going on? If I'm not going to O, when am I going to get AF? I wish she would get here so we could get on with the next cycle.
Any thoughts?

I'm afraid it is looking anovulatory at this point. I know how very frustrating this has to be for you. I just wanted to tell you I've got my fingers crossed that the crazy O fairy will come see you soon.
You basically have a couple of options...you can just hang out and wait for O and then AF...Or it is possible AF will arrive without O...but there is really no way to predict when that will be. It is possible, though, that O will happen for you really late. check out the Pregnancy Charts on FF...do a search under "pregnancy - delayed O".
If things just seem to stretch on and on with no O or AF...then your doctor can give you something like Provera to jumpstart your period. I can tell you that that was what I did and it was very successful. I had gotten into this pattern of VERY irregular cycles and going sometimes 2 and 3 months with no AF. My doc gave me Provera (I took 3 pills a day for 3 days) and then AF came about 10 days later. Since then, I've had 3 good ovulatory cycles...
Anyway...I wish you much luck. Keep us posted!

Hi Christina:
I agree with what the last poster had to say. Also, maybe it's possible that you only have one working ovary, so you might not ovulate every month?? I've heard of that happening before. You might want to ask that question at your next Dr's appointment.
I'm so sorry. Long cycles are terrible--especially when they don't want to end!
Visit with your doc ASAP, and keep us posted.
Hang in there,
Holly
thanks!
