Anovulatory Cycle?

Hello everyone,

I am struggling with a thermometer I don't trust at the moment, hoping to have a proper basal one next week.

I've been tracking CP and CM very carefully this month, as well as saliva ferning, and they all indicated ovulation occurred on day 13 - and that by now I'm back in the infertile phase - but this hasn't been substantiated with a temp rise.

Do you think I'm having an anovulatory cycle? I'd be very grateful for any thoughts on my graph: http://www.FertilityFriend.com/home/30d02

Thanks

Hi!

Try not to get too frustrated with temps at this point. It *really does* make a difference when you use a Basal thermometer...they are much more sensitive. Go ahead and keep recording temps, but do not, I mean do NOT let them get you frustrated, ok? All other signs are good, so stick with that...and run out and get a Basal...digital ones are my personal fave.

Also, your chart is in celcius...sometimes celcius charts look "flatter" than farenheit charts. You will still get a clear picture (once you have a basal therm), but the charts don't show the difference in temps as well...hard to explain, but go to the chart gallery at FF and look at some celcius charts...you should see what I mean. Just telling you that so you are prepared for it!

Good luck, and keep your chin up!

I agree with Kim, a basal therm is *much* more accurate. It sounds like you have O'd, based on your other signs. I would still keep an eye on cm, for the most part, and BD to be safe if you see any fertile cm. Good luck!

Thank you Kim and Kellie!

Your positive feedback really helped me today. I've not been able to find a basal thermometer here in the UK, one store sells "fertility thermometers" but I'm not convinced they are the right sort... so I'm bidding on one at eBay at the moment - hopefully I'll win it!

Thanks also for the tip about using Farenheit, I didn't realise the difference.

We BD'd so much from day 10 to 15 that if I ovulated I think we have a really good chance this month!

I bet the fertility thermometers are the right kind. All you need is a thermometer that measures to the tenth place (x.x), and that should work fine. Sometimes the info with the thermometer will tell you, so they might let you open the thermometer at the store to find out. Or if it has a phone number, you could call and find out.

If you throw out that one high temp, you can see a slight thermal shift. The shift would put you at ovulating on day 14. It is possible that you are one of those women where temps are not a good indicator, so if all other signs say go, I would just go by that, at least until next cycle with a BBT (if that is even necessary *good luck*)

Thanks for the support, Chanda! I'm quite elated as my temps are slightly further up today, still hopeful that I ovulated around day 14. My cycle is usually 28 days so it's unlikely I would ovulate much later than that - hopefully temps will continue to rise!!
