Hello,
I had abnormal paps all through my early twenties. I had my first colposcopy at 21, and the doctor who performed it was not very nice...he sort of scared me into believing that Id be infertile because of becoming exposed to the HPV virus that was causing my abnormal pap smears. After the hellish procedure (ive since had a few more, and they were done my a different OB/GYN and they werent fun, but cake compared to this one), he sat me down and basically told me that if my abnormal paps continue, Id have to get a LEEP or a cone biopsy, and I would likely have a hard time getting pregnant or become infertile. :( At 25, I had a LEEP procedure done. Im 30 now and we're TTC-ing. Most of my paps have been normal since the procedure.
I have looked online and found many reassuring tales of women who've had LEEPs, even multiple LEEPs! And had no issues with becoming pregnant, just that sometimes the scar tissue

Hi there,
I work in an early pregnancy clini and Gyne clinic which does colposcopys and LEEPS. Having a LEEP will NOT decrease your chances of getting pregnant in the future, however with that being said, there should be no reason to have a LEEP done if your paps have been normal. Let me know if you have any questions...
