anyone ever have false negatives?

Ok, so DH and I are ttc number 3. I've been off bc since August. We are super-fertile, the other 2 pregnancies were instant. But I also hadn't expected the other two, so when I found out I was pregnant with each of them it wasn't until the 7 or 8 week mark. So I have never focused on symptoms this early.

Anyway, my period is like clockwork. It was supposed to arrive this morning, and didn't. I have been having pregnancy symptoms since last week (severe sensitivity to smells, nausea, fatugue, sore nipples, and cramps). I never get cramps with AF, but I always get headaches. This time, it was opposite. So I assumed it was early pregnancy. But I took a few tests and they were all negative.

How many days past ovulation are you and what kind of test did you use? False negatives are pretty common if you are a really early tester.

I don't know when I ovulated. I wasn't paying attention really. I guess I just assumed since we conceived the other 2 so easily, that it would just happen, so I didn't bother paying any attention to that. But my period should have been here this morning. So I don't think it would be too early to test. Unless my body just doesn't have enough of the hcg levels yet. I would think if I were experiencing symptoms, then it would be strong enough to show up. But then again, my body is sensitive, and I tend to be very in-tune with my body. Something is not right, so I assumed it was pregnancy. But with 3 negative tests, now I'm not sure!

I have no idea. My af was due yesterday (today at the latest) and I didn't get mine either. I'm afraid to test for exactly this reason. It seems like all the women on here start getting late periods once they ttc, ugh.

There is a terrific site called countdowntopregnancy.com and it has percentages of the number of women that get a positive or negative and still be pregnant at what stage in their cycle. The day of your missed period and the days after, a negative result is pretty accurate but there are always the ones that slip through. Definitely check out the site, I used it every month to track symptoms and when to test and accuracy.

Unfortunately, just a day or more off on ovulation can throw AF off. I had a cycle where my OPK said I ovulated, I was sure I did, 11 days late from AF and nothing...On my 12th day late, AF arrived. The theory was that although I had the surge and was about to ovulate, the egg didn't release and eventually did...late. Throwing that cycle off on a tilt.

Good Luck at the Drs. and hopefully they can help you and hopefully you get that positive you're looking for. It can happen. :)
