Anyone going to wait to announce BFP?

I know since we are all TTC and are very very aware of our bodies and we are all POAS freaks...we will know "sooner" than the average woman when we get (I am claiming the WHEN for us all) preggers.

BUT...is anyone going to wait to tell DH or SO or anyone else until 6-8 weeks?

I've had 2 miscarriages in the past and since I have not TTC in 4 years...I am kinda alot scared about having a loss again.

Since this is the first time SO has ever been involved in the TTC process (before he was just the supplier so has no clue about charting and everything else and his ex never did that) I was thinking of waiting until 6 weeks or that 1st u/s when you can see the heartbeat and hear it (I would have one at 6 weeks since I had losses)

I'm going to tell DH right away, but I'm not telling anyone else till 12 weeks. I want to get past that "risky" time before I make any announcements. I know a lot of people who have waited until then to tell anyone. In fact, one of my friends didn't even tell her parents till after she had her ultrasound at about 20 weeks - she was showing too, I don't know how they didn't see it when she went over there to visit them!

I will tell DH as soon as I know, but everyone else can wait. We live 1,000 miles from our family so I am really really hoping that it will happen this cycle then I can tell everyone at Christmas when we are home. Only problem... mom and dad are visiting on testing day... they might know sooner too, either that or I wait to POAS. Yeah right!

It's an interesting question.

I've been thinking about it and I will tell DH after the second bloodtest (so I'll know a week ahead of him). As for everyone else, I will wait until about 4 weeks to tell my parents (they will not be thrilled at first, but they'll come around; it's all about my new job for them). I will probably tell the IL's and siblings around the same time. As for work, I'm thinking of telling the office at around 6 wks, and HR around 12 wks.

Good topic! I hadn't really thought about this before!

My DH and I have talked about it, and we'll be telling our parents and a few select friend around 6 weeks.

DH will definitely be the first to know...I don't think I could keep that from him.

This is a tough one. A lot of people know that DH and I are trying and tend to ask me the dreaded "are you pregnant yet?" but I dont have a hard time shooting people down with a NO. But I definitely dont think I could keep it from my DH. And hes fairly aware of my cycle because hes been pretty involved in the whole TTC process. I suppose there would be ways for me to trick him, but I wouldnt want to. The problem would be who to tell early vs. who to tell later. I dont get along with my in laws, but I know he'll want to tell his family. I will probably stick to only telling my parents of course, his parents with strong promising that NOBODY else will find out unless they hear it from us, and a select one or two of my BFFs. I worry most about my in laws, because they are how I found out about my SIL and CousinILs pregnancies. So needless to say they were quick to blab it. They may have not cared about anyone knowing but I will and it will be a touchy subject for me. At least until we can see a heartbeat. Id like to say 1st trimester but thats a tough one. lol
