Anyone use BC to jumpstart?

Hi
So I was wondering if anybody else has used BCP to jumpstart your cycle again. Anybody use it to try to reregulate a very long cycle? I'm just curious. I feel like maybe I'm the only one doing this and it's frustrating. I've been tempted to just stop them again since I'm on monophasic pills but at the same time I'm almost positive that stopping without finishing the cycle would cause more problems than it would solve.

Hi, I am sure we have talked about long cycles before. I am sort of experiencing the same thing as you. My cycles are all over the place, but not over 70 days yet, more like in the 50 day range. But who knows this cycle? I am wondering if the longer I go off the pill, the more wacky my cycles will be.
I posted a question about bc and its-regulating of cycles on another board just yesterday. I have heard of this working for some women. My questions are: would it be counter-productive to take the pill when its coming out of system, why put it back? Also, I am thinking of my first cycle off bc, I ovulatied around cd 39, so that still isn't the normal time in the cycle to ovulate. I am wondering, looking back, if I had bded more around that time, if pg would have happened.
Have you talked to your doctor? Or are you trying to figure out how to re-regulate without meds? I am going Nov. 12 and I plan to ask her what she thinks about going back on the pill if I do not ovulate by that point. I wish I had a more defined answer to your question, but I wanted to respond because I was wondering the same exact thing. Right now, I am waiting it out since I am only on cd 35 but w/ no O. I wish you the best, and keep us posted.
Thank you for your post.
Yes, I was hoping to figure out a way to re-regulate without meds but only because I haven't really found a good doctor or clinic where I live. DH and I just moved to AZ in January and I have found one doc that I like but she only accepts same day appts and that is very difficult for me to do because I work full time and her clinic closes at 4 pm. So I'm still looking for a good OB/GYN that I don't have to be refered to.
I found one clinic this weekend that I'm going to call on Monday to find out more information about it. I'm going to wait until the break through bleeding that is supposed to happen at the end of the BC pack, either comes or doesn't come. I need to go in for my yearly anyway.
I've heard that after 6 months your fertility is supposed to be completely back to normal. That is what through me off. I was off for
Have you spoken to your Dr or RE?
With some BC it can take upto a year to get it out of your system, and I wouldn't want you to be prolonging that by using BC without speaking to someone.
I know that some girls are prescribed Provera to help bring on periods, at least in the USA not the UK (I'm from the UK).
But, having a period does not mean that you are ovulating.
I am having periods but not ovulating after being on the Depo shot.
I would seak medical advice.
Good Luck
Julir

i was on the monophasic pills until a month ago. i don't know about TTC, but i would often skip my last pill or 2 at the end of a pack and then take those to jumpstart things a week later when it was time to start my new pack.
i wouldn't think taking BC would be good while TTC, though. if there are no decent docs in your area, find someone in your capitol city (or where ever) and make an appointment for there.. better yet, get a referral from one of your local docs so you can get in a bit quicker.
best of luck to ya.. i understand about not having good docs around... that's why, for my back, i had to drive 1.5hr one way, about once/month.
Click HERE to view my chart, that has now been corrected, thx to Julie DH's temp corrector!
I really hope it works for you. Are you just going to use 1 pck of pills and then wait for AF?
It's so frustrating not having a cyle where you can even TTC properly isn't it?
Wishing you luck.
Julie

Yeah...I'm only using one pack. I was ovulating just fine before I went on the pill. Never missed a cycle. Immediately after I got off the pill I was ovulating. I O'd twice after I got off the pill and then I entered the cycle I'm in now. I don't know what went wrong.:( It's so frustrating.
