Hi!

HTH~~~ I used to work at a place called The Reproductive Center for Research & Testing. We perfomed Sperm Washing (SWC) for the MD's and assisted with the prodcedure. This was 8 years ago so I don't know if anything has changed.

For just a SWC (Sperm Washing & Capacitation) we charged $65.00 and the MD charged another $100.00 for the actual procedure.

For a SWCC (Sperm Washing Capacitation with Caffeine~~~incase DH has slow swimmers) we charged $95.00 and the MD charged the same price, $100.00

As far a drugs are your referring to Clomid, Lupron or Perganol? I am not sure about Lupron or Perganol, but I think Clomid is running for $25.00 for 1 50mg pill and the usual RX is 5 pills.

You might try asking your doctor's office for a "price list." At my first IF consultation, we had to sit down with a business manager to review our insurance coverage and the cost per procedure, etc. at the clinic.

I don't have the full list with me, but I believe if you add in all the meds, sperm wash, procedure, etc., the total cost of an IUI - before subtracting out whatever amount insurance covers - would be $500 - $600.

Most insurance plans do NOT cover the sperm wash (about $100), but may cover a portion of the IUI and/or meds.

Good luck to you!

It's been 5 years since I had my IUI so I may not be remembering correctly. I think the IUI including the wash was around $300. That did not include meds that I was taking (fertinex).

Just got home and dug out the price list from my clinic; this includes IUI costs as well as other non-related costs. My clinic gave me this so I could have some idea how quickly I was chipping away at my insurance coverage lifetime max for IF treatments:

Nurse Practitioner Visits: $37-90

AI or Gonadatropin Consult: $205

Follie Ultrasounds: $160

Beta HCG Pregnancy Test: $38

Estradiol Lab Test: $69

Post-Coital Test: $73

IUI: $213

Sperm Wash for IUI: $53

Donor Insemination (2 per cycle): $138 each

Meds

Fertinex, per ampule of 75 units: $96

Follistim, per ampule of 75 units: $90

Repronex, per ampule of 75 units: $90
