Ok so let me just start by saying that my husband and I are very picky, we've been through a 100,000 baby name book and I've been looking online at websites for the past 2 years and we still have yet to agree or find a perfect girl name. We've picked out our boy name no problem. But for the girl it's more complicated.. let me just start by saying I don't mean to offend anyone.. lets start by saying what we want and don't want.

Here are a few ideas (forgive me if they've been mentioned before).

Katherine/Catherine, Lilian (Lily), Anne, Lynn, Bethany, Danielle, Sarah, Jane, Victoria, Abigail, Emily, Grace, Hannah, Sophie, Alice, Deborah, Evelyn (Eve), Mary, Rachel, Faith, Esther, Dorothy.

Hmm, that's all I can think of right now.

For the record, my DD's name is Samantha (a name I thought was classic and pretty) and we call her Sam/Sammie for short. I don't think that's cruddy at all, I think it's

My DDs are Delaney Grace and Avery Maren. Avery obviously won't work for you, as it's typically a boys name. But what about Maren (Mare-in)?? It was going to be her first name until my hairdresser named her DD that 2 months before I had Avery!

Good luck! BTW, both of our girls were 2 days old before they were named.

Not original enough...maybe I will go buy one of those books suggested, the one I have has a lot of ethnic names and nothing original. Thanks for trying everyone..

I am right there with you! I pretty much have all the same criteria for girl names except for the ending in a thing, since our last name doesn't end in a. Girl names are so hard because being a girl is so hard! It has to be beautiful and elegant and classic but unusual but not weird and not too cutesy and look good for a super model but also a business woman ... it's nearly impossible! And I don't like knicknames for the most part either.

So here are the names that I'm toying with and maybe they will

Hello- I'm Katie- an occasional lurker from the WTT board, and wanted to see if I could suggest a few names.
