Bad post-coital test!

Just wondering: What would be the reason that there would be no sperm found during a post-coital test. It's been a while now, but I went in on a monday morning for an u/s and my follicle was getting ready to rupture so the RE wanted us to do a post-coital. We bd'd around 10 or 11pm, then had our test at 9am the next morning. My follicle had ruptured by the time we went in, but the RE found NO sperm when he took the sample. DH has sperm, though not great ones, and I know he didn't "fake it". The RE said it didn't look like a cm problem, so is it possible that we bd'd too late and I'd already ovulated and my cervix closed up or something so no swimmers could get to it? Is that even possible? Or maybe they hadn't had time to swim up there yet...? I don't know...I'm just curious that maybe we did something wrong.
Anyway, thanks for your input. And sorry for sounding completely ignorant. After this long, you'd think I'd know more about this stuff. :P

Your RE might be right, maybe it was too late and your cervix was closed.

Perhaps your RE could repeat the test?

Good luck
