I officially took my last BC Pill last night after been on them for about 7 years or so. My husband and I have been married for 1 1/2 years and are ready to try and start a family. I know I'm supposed to wait 3 months to allow my period to try and get back to a normal cycle - but I'm going to start tracking things. I got the book "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" and I've been reading it. It said if I'm going off the pill to start tracking when I get spotting after the first week of going off the pill. Does this mean to track the first red blood spotting or any spotting at all? I wasn't sure how quickly I would get spotting after going off the pill, but hopefully you gals and help me as I'm tracking so I don't get confused :) I'm excited to start the process and prepare!

Let me first welcome you to the board! May your stay here be short and sweet!!! Before I got pg, I was on BCP for about 18 years. Every pill and everybody is different do I can only share my experience with you.
My Dr gave me the go-ahead immediately after coming off BCP. Please remember, however, it can take your body several cycles to "get back to normal". I had no idea what normal was for me so I began to chart my cycles.
I ended my BCP at the end of my BCP cycle. I took my last pill and counted the first day of spotting as CD1. I did this for the first cycle only as my AF was very light while on BCP.
My first cycle off BCP was 29 days and I don't think I ovuluated. My second cycle was 25 days and I got pg on my third cycle.
Here's wishing you the best of luck!!! Have fun trying!!!!

All I can tell you is what I have experienced after stopping bcp's after 12 yrs of taking them. I took my last pill in June and had two normal 26-27 day cycles. My last period was July 27th and I haven't had one since. The doctor told me that it takes some time for it to get out of your system after all that time. They gave me Provera for five days to bring on my period and hopefully, that should get my cycles back to normal. I am on Day 5 of the Provera and starting to feel crampy, so hopefully I am back in business.
Gook luck to you, hopefully you will bounce back quicker that I did and have a BFP before you know it!
