BD question - kind of gross

Hi -

So, I am on cd 17, and we did the bd this morning using pre-seed (only time that would work given our work schedules). I stayed in bed for an extra 20 minutes, then got up to get ready. About an hour after the deed, I sneezed, and I swear everything came out. Was it all for nothing? Is there something else I should be doing? I can't just lie in bed all day, and lots of times when dh gets home it is late and we are both tired. I usually o on cd 19 or 20, so of course we'll try again Friday and then Sunday just to be sure.

I was so annoyed - is there anything we can do better to make sure the little guys get up there and have a day or two to wait for the egg?

I think you are okay since you laid for 20 mins afterwards... When I had IUI I only had to lay for 15 mins before getting up. How about using softcups? Or propping a pillow underneath you afterwards?

I agree that you laid down for long enough afterwards, and it wasn't for nothing. Sperm is already making it's way towards cervix right afterwards. What came out when you sneezed was most likely cervical mucous and Preseed. If it does make you feel better about it, you could try the Instead cup, just insert it after you BD.

I have been using the pillow, but had never heard of softcups. I'm totally ordering those to see if they help. Thanks!

Make sure you aren't using too large of a pillow, you don't want to tilt your hips up too high or the spermies can get stuck behind your cervix.

I also remembered that my uterus is tilted, so I tried laying face down last night with a smaller pillow under my hips. Hopefully, that plus the soft cups will do the trick.
