So I've tried the Walgreens brand of OPK and they didn't work. what have people tried that has worked? I am going to go buy a thermometer tomorrow and want to get a good OPK. People talk about digital ones, are they like the HPT tests or the expensive ones you can get?
I can only speak from my personal experience, but I refuse to use anything but the CBE digital. Of course, the only other thing I can compare it to was the Answer dip-stick test that come 20 in pack. For me, comparing and analyzing the two lines was too stressful. Were they close? Do they match? And when the test line is kind of "half-dark"...ugh, it was adding more stress to this process, which we all know is stressful enough.
I finally bought the digital OPK and it look some time (I ovulated late) but I did finally get a positive that did not have to be questioned. I have no doubt that if I was relying on the Answer test I would have missed my window. The digital test is more expensive but for me its piece of mind.
I started using the Answer ones this month. Very confusing to me. I have gotten a couple positive results and lots of close to positive results a few times in my cycle. Some of the lines are half dark and half light so you don't know what to go by. It's not worth the aggravation and it's only my first month using them! I know a woman who used the ClearBlue Easy Digital Fertility Monitor online. She has used it twice to conceive her two children and swears by it.
I hear good things about the CBEFM also. Now that I'm in love with digital OPKs, and they took a lot of stress out of this whole thing for me, I'm going to stick with those for a few months. If there's no result after a few more cycles, we've decided that will be the time to splurge on the FM.
I use the ones recommended from my TR Surgeon. I've heard people complain about internet cheapies but they work for us and I have no problem at all getting an accurate read. We use the dip tests from http://www.saveontests.com
